Anti Trans Laws

And just for perspective: I worked in Brazil for a week about 15 years ago. Gas prices were 8 dollars USD per gallon over there way back then. Meanwhile a person doing the same job as me over there was making about $1500 USD less per month than me. Almost everyone over there drove a compact car (geo metro types) or a motorcycle or scooter. Almost no trucks or SUV's or vans etc.
So I mean 7 dollars per gallon sucks but isn't the end of the world. Just gotta budget better and be smarter.

I dont even make close to 100,000 per year. My wife doesn't work. I have a mortgage and support a small family. I just went on a cruise a month ago and am currently trying to buy a new car (2022 hybrid accord or camry most likely). Life is good. Im doing just fine even during this inflation period (just bought a nice electric bike a little over a month ago that I love and ride to work almost every day.). I make less money that most people im pretty sure yet im still doing fine. I think society has gotten to a point where we love to complain and literally look for things to be upset about. We crave being triggered.
Same in Germany. They were always higher than here. When we moved there 5 years ago the prices were 1.25 euros per liter. So pushing $6 per gallon depending on exchange rate. We've been fooled by artificially cheap gas for decades.

Gaslit. The Holy Grail? I'm not republican, but leaning that way lately. This type of rhetoric is the same as when the republicans say that democrats will go after church's taxes, they want pedophilia in schools, democrats hate America. Democrats are going to take every gun. Gay Marriage will lead to people marrying trees and animals etc....this rhetoric does nothing but show that you are as far left as you can possibly be and this is why I can no longer take you seriously. The far Right and Far left are so far apart that the ideologies and hate they both spew is why I vote for the person, not the party. The two party system is going to kill this country. It already is. We are so tribal now days with our hate for the "other side" .
The trouble with your argument is that Democrat politicians don't typically say the things that Republicans pretend to be afraid that they will do. Democrats don't have to look very far to find a Republican politician saying all of the terrible things Democrats fear from them. Republicans hang themselves by opening their mouths.

This is true. I have yet to hear democrats are going after churches taxes from a democratic politician (maybe they have said that but I haven't heard it), or heard a democrat say that they want pedophilia in schools, or that they hate america or that they are going to take every gun.
I hear republican politicians say that they want guns in the hands of teachers. I hear them praise hitler. I hear them say they will change voting laws and how election outcomes are determined. I hear them say they will take away womens rights. I hear them speak of having a civil war. I hear them say that they want certain states to leave the US. Remember when lauren boboert was saying those horrible things about one of her fellow congresswomen. Trump has changed the way Republican politicians behave in a major way. Removed much of the class, decency, civility and humanity. Its sad and alarming. Wost thing is that the less class, decency, civility, and humanity a political candidate in the republican party has, the more votes they are likely to get. The base loves low class, rude, mean spirited types for their politicians.

Yes they have dramatically changed in the last 10 years, and it's accelerated since trump. No doubt the republican party has used this as an excuse to mobilize their base and sadly this kind of **** strikes a real cord with far too many people.

Agreed that it hasn't always been this way and I really think that the Republican party might be headed for a split. There are many decent people who are fiscally conservative, a few who are socially conservative and a handful who are both. I know the whole "deplorable" thing became a meme but the Trump wing (or should I say main corridor) of the Republican party is a bunch of deplorables.

The only fear I have is that the split will most likely be a sliver of moderate Republicans leaving their own party because Trumpism (which might continue to exist with or without Trump) consumes what once was a respectable political party.

I’ve been told under good authority here that all the anti trans hysteria we’ve seen over the past year was ONLY about protecting girl’s sports and not about right wing terrorists and Christian nationalists intimidating, terrorizing, or attacking the LGBT community…

Are we sure there’s nothing to be worried about? This is Only about protecting girl’s sports, right?

Well, and libraries. We can't be having our kids being taught by Drag Queens that reading is fun, it's our gawd given right to keep our kids ignorant and illiterate.

So after we ban trans students from participating in sports and after we purge libraries from anything we don’t like then Republicans will finally be satisfied and happy and stop with these wars on people they don’t like, right???

Well, sure, except for those with funny accents, or weird skin colors, or bodies that don't work quite right (except diabetes, which is obviously what gawd intended, because he made us fat)...

Nothin to worry about here. It’s all about protecting girls sports. Right?

All these hate crimes against LGBTs is just a coincidence that they’re occurring after 2 years of the right wing and Qanon calling LGBTs pedophiles and groomers. Words don’t actually influence actions, right?

Im sure giving these guys control of congress this fall won’t have any negative effects for the LGBT community. After all, gas prices justify it, right?

Except for those. See, if we can just get rid of all of those undesirable people, you know find a solution or final solution you might say, then America will truly achieve its greatness.

Even if you haven't seen the Orville, you should watch season 3 episode 5. I'd be really interested in hearing other opinions. Especially @One Brow and @Gameface
