Walker Kessler Hype & Appreciation Thread

Literally the worst humanity has to offer, all in one place. Brings out the worst in pretty much everyone who participates. But I'm one who is firmly convinced that social media in general is a cancer in society and will eventually be a large part of our downfall.
It’s a good thing I don’t understand the tweeter

Does this mean Kessler graduates from the summer league play without every stepping a foot on the summer league court? I really wanted to see him play on the summer league team last year but he was injured.

Probably. Similar to when Don, there's no point in risking injury if he's not going to anything out of it.

Could Kessler be as good as Bam 1 day?

What skills does he need to work on to achieve that?
They are not analogous almost at all. Walker would have to become a good enough shooter to operate out of the high post and work as point center (neither of which he shows signs of doing). He’d also have to be switchable almost across the lineup.

Not analogous.

Was Bam able to do all that coming out of College?

I’d always thought he was a blocking defensive player who developed these other skills in the NBA.

Empty gym etc. etc., but that’s a lot better than the usual Simmons, Gobert et al off season shooting videos. If he actually can shoot some 3s in game at around 35% or so, he’s gonna be a big problem for opponents.
I’d settle for him moving into the mid-to-high 70’s on free throws. That bumps his numbers up significantly and makes it so you can’t just foul him to take him out of the offensive game plan.

The question is will they actually let him. There were plenty of times last season where he had the ball in a good shooting position with no one around him and he awkwardly looked at the rim while holding the ball to pass instead of just taking the open shot. I hate it when coaches do that. Let the guy take the ****ing shot. What do we have to lose in many of these scenarios anyway? And we stand to gain a lot if he develops some confidence and is suddenly a threat for the corner 3. At his size and with his other skills that is a mother****ing game changer, even if he only got to maybe 33 or 34%.

I think Hardy understands the value of a 3D 5. Problem with Walker needs to be more consistent from range in a general sense and Fts in particular.
