2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Not redoing my big board right now but Risacher will be falling… prolly moving Holland up. Edey I think moves up.

I really struggled with #2.

IMO, Sarr is my clear #1 and I don't see that changing. There's probably 5-6 guys you could make a good case for at #2. Sticking with Risacher for now.

I left Furphy out of my top 14 this time (forgot about him tbh), but I did see someone say that he's essentially the same prospect as Risacher.

Here's me playing devil's advocate again... so... how do we feel about Risacher in comparison to Bilal last year? Is he a better prospect than Bilal? Is he better right now? If he is and we liked last year's draft but not much this year's draft... then can Risacher really fall that much?

Bilal better, but they are different prospects.

He's a more productive player than Bilal was last season (offensively at least) and slightly older. I feel like the Bilal's case was never about his production, however. It was his physical tools and rapid development over the course of last season. I think Bilal was a better prospect.

Are they similar players in any way?

If Bilal is better I’m going to have to move Risacher down even farther on my big board.

Risacher is in a slump… but what is slump and what was a hot streak is the debate. I think I have enough doubt about his jumper to knock him out of top ten.

They are both big/tall/long wings with defensive potential but questionable shooting and offensive creation... maybe Risacher has a bit more on ball skill ?

I actually think Bilal’s ball skills are on par/better. But Risacher is a better shooter….if you think Risacher > Bilal it’s all about the shooting.

I get more skeptical on Risacher as the slump goes on, but maybe we are getting a little too harsh on him. He doesn't feel like a number one or top 3 prospect....but he's 19 and in about 1000 minutes this season his production has been pretty good.

19/6/2 per40 on 58% TS. Decent stocks. Gotta respect that kind of production at his level of competition.

Who is this year's Peyton Watson? (in other words, a late-first selection who quickly turns into a defensive menace)?

Side point: kudos to Denver for getting this kid and slotting him in like this. The rich get richer.

Supposedly his ft shooting and shooting numbers before this year weren’t good either. KOC had some words on his pod about it. I think it’s more likely the hot streak may have been more fluky than this cold streak… it’s kind of a guess… like everything in this damn draft seems to be.

The FT% is definitely disappointing. I didn't realize it was so mid until recently and it's definitely cause for some concern

I'm not looking it at as a hot streak or cold streak. He's shooting 39% from 3 this season on all attempts and 70% the line.

Across 3 seasons, 82 professional games, ~1500 minutes and 190 3PA, he's shooting 47.6% from the floor and 40.7% from 3. I'm not overly concerned about his efficiency/3 point ability.

He does need to get better from the foul line, and get to the foul line more.
