What's new

No thread about the Filipowski fiasco?

The age difference isn't the issue per se, it's the circumstances. This really shouldn't be that complicated.

If you've known someone when you were an adult and they were a kid, don't ever bang them. Is this so much to ask of people?

According to the topic of this thread we should discuss the lack of thread about Filipowski fiasko.

If we instead discuss the Filipowski fiasco we are both off topic and effectively negating this thread.
But what if she really does bang?

So those who feel this grooming thing is just the worst thing about Flip, what should the jazz do about it? Cut him? If he's been groomed he can't have a job? Report it to the police or something? Tell him he breaks up with her or he gets cut? What kind of outcome is expected there?

I think it's possible to believe the grooming thing, if true, is very messed up, while also not being worried about the basketball side of things and being very happy to have Flip.

i dont think its the worst thing, hell the girl could of been fat. shheesh. but call your mom make sure she know you still love her, tell her you only plan on one wife and that you dont actually dig up skeletons when you baptise the dead.

There was plenty of talk online that the reason he fell to the Jazz in the second round was concerns about this relationship. Not in the sense that there's going to be legal issues or anything like that, but in the sense that he's estranged from his family and that she seemingly wields a huge influence over him.

If the Jazz think him a talented prospect as opposed to roster filler, then this is probably something to consider. Perhaps approach the situation differently than other rookies.

No, the reason that was given (among a list of other reasons) is that he didn't handle the interview questions well, that he seemed nervous in interviews.

Pro teams often overreact to this stuff. They get extremely invasive/personal then dock prospects for not handling it well because no one would handle that **** well because it's an incredibly not normal thing. I remember when the NFL had banned teams from asking prospects about their mom being prostitutes.

Givony said he was nervous in interviews about the family questions, but what made teams less in on him was how he was in the interviews.

"NBA teams are talking about the fact that they had questions about his girlfriend being so much older than him, why was he estranged from his family because of this whole situation. It’s a very, very odd situation. "

Sure sounds like he's saying the teams were nervous about the situation and not just his answers.

Either way, it all makes sense. NBA teams have been iffy about players in the past based on beliefs that family members have too much influence on them(except Bronny, natch). Why get involved in something like this over a guy who was a late-first round pick even without this stuff.

Except what you just said makes no sense. If teams are worried about a family being too involved then they wouldn't worry about Flip at all because his family has no involvement with his life...

Ok, I don't know if you're trolling or if I need to explain to you that girlfriends and wives are also family?

group me with those who think that his brother/parents are the problem and the wife is the solution. (losing friends by the minute with this thread)
