What's new

2024 annual Jazzfanz All time jazz draft

Just out of curiosity, are you choosing Penny’s point guard year or shooting guard year when you plan to have him defend SF?
His 95-96 year, but I'm still doing my fair amount of research as to how I want to roll out this lineup. I'll more than likely relegate to utilizing him as a 2, but if Penny could play the 3 in his twilight years (which were some very sad years due to injuries) then I can only imagine in his physical prime that he would bode well. The whole purpose of putting these teams together is to untap the potential of each player, and test their limits. In previous years I've gone with a more symplistic, linear lineup that happens to do great when I do the sim. This year, I wanted to try something new and make a team that is fast and can run other teams off the floor. Just the thought of CP3, Lever, West, David Thompson, Kobe, Josh Smith on the same team seems like a very fun team. I'm eager to see how we do when I go through with the sims.

And this year I wanted to run 30 sims to give everyone a fair shake. Everybody is going to get a chance to get the most out of their team, and no time is wasted. I'm trying to make sure everybody has fun out of this, and all of their time isn't wasted. I'm a man of the people.

Ok sounds good man, it’s fun to experiment, look forward to seeing how your team do in the sims.

BTW hope you don’t sabotage my sim just cos I question your lineup, LoL !!!!

Sims are extremely biased. In reality, I'm not so sure Jerry West would be good enough to be a starter on a modern NBA team. :p
I tend to agree, in Freshprince’s scenario I would probably go:

CP3 / Penny
Kobe / West
Smith
McHale
Embiid

… as the lineup, but that’s just me.

Uh oh, it's Mr. we done with the 60's!

And give me an example of how voting is less biased than a sim that is ran 30 times as opposed to a one and done poll?

I'll ask you this, do you think the JF community has knowledge of all 200+ players in this draft? Do you think the people here don't make picks in favor of favoritism? In a sim your actually seeing these players go toe to toe and every physical attribute is put to the test.

Both are biased. Sims are based on 2k employees assigning attributes to players. It's not an actual simulation of the universe lol. Obviously, legendary players will be given high stats by said employees. In reality, watching games from the 60s, it is clear than West does not possess anywhere near the level of athleticism and skill than modern players do, regardless of what some 2k employee decided would make for the most engaging gameplay.

Damn man why you singling out the Logo?

There were a couple guys I wanted to take from the 60’s era, but this other guy helps sure up my teams biggest question mark which are some holes at pf. I have two great offensive pf’s, but none are great or known for their defensive prowess or spacing the floor. So I need a player I can bring in to end each half, play great defense and space the floor for Hakeem and Luka.

I picked Serge Ibaka for my last pick
