Following Potential 2025 Draftees

It kind of sucks not having a late first in this draft. Right now I think the middle of this draft is bad value vs most drafts, but the end of the draft has a chance to be pretty good value vs most drafts.
That's the thing tho. Before it would be hard to rationalize trading Sexton or Collins for a late first this year. Now that possibility is open. We still might do the thing where we look at the board and then just trade out for a pile of seconds... but you get to take a look at the board and you wouldn't have two late picks to manage on draft night.

I would love to flip either (or both, or others) for 2RPs this year. Hit the gas on the tank in 2H and maintain maximum roster / cap flexibility.

I wouldn’t rule out having a late first this year, but I don’t think we’ll need one or want one. We probably weren’t going to draft with the CLE pick….good chance we would have turned that into future seconds or whatever.

I think the interesting debate is Kas vs Ace. I don't think VJ is in that tier unless he starts shooting much better.

I think your analytical guys will go with Kas vs your trust your eyes guys will go with Ace.

Could be right. Reed Sheppard has me spooked on the value of projecting NCAA-level analytics to the NBA game (though Kasparas is obviously a much different player).

I still think the first layer of analysis needs to start with physical tools, and Bailey has them in spades. Size, length, youth, shooting, can score at all levels, and all the tools defensively. And he's damn productive - not just a project.

it's crazy to think how much better of a prospect - talking just prospect, forget about how bad Reed has been in the league so far - KJ is than Sheppard.

bigger - a lot bigger, stronger - a lot stronger, better passer, better playmaker, better ball handler. defense maybe a wash, but because he's so much bigger and stronger, he projects as a better, more versatile defender at the next level. better scorer. the only thing Sheppard has on him is shooting. these dudes are miles apart.

and we're talking about two guys in that 3-5 range. just more evidence of how weak at the top that draft was.
