We’re so far far away from good playoff basketball. Imagine Cody or half our roster trying to play this game. Cody wouldn’t last more than 30 seconds before breaking. It’s just too tough and physical for our terrible roster. Amazing how little we’ve actually built despite sucking for 3 years and blowing through draft picks.

You missed my point. We’ve had 3 years to get some young talent and none of the guys we’ve drafted give me any confidence that they’ll be starters for a playoff team. It’s not so much that we’re tanking it’s that we’ve done such a poor job of tanking.

I’m sure it gives you some catharsis to complain about everything. But I can’t take you seriously when you’re whining about not having Cade and being jealous of the Pistons one post then the next post you’re whining about tanking. Pick a struggle.

If you don’t think the Jazz did good enough at tanking previously you should be over the moon with where we are and what we did this season.
 
I’ve loved how the refs have swallowed their whistles. Let the best athletes in the world do their thing. No one wants to watch a parade to the free throw line. Give me tough defense over the 3 point/free throw shooting contests we see throughout the regular season.

You seem to be intentionally missing my point (again).

Catharsis?
 
Gobert has always had bad hands, but his hands seem even worse nowadays, like he cant even grab an offensive rebound. I guess it's mostly because he cant rise up at all on rebounds in traffic. Most everything is just a tip.

Though his offensive rebounding numbers have been good this year. Maybe it's just a this series thing.

Your point is clear, I just can’t take it seriously. You say your complaint is about not tanking well enough. Then when we actually do tank well enough, you turn around and complain that the roster that tanked well isn’t good. This is venting, not good faith discussion.

Biggest thing the Pistons have on us is being in the East tbh. The Pistons don’t sniff the playoffs in the West and would more or less be where Portland is. Not saying that’s a bad spot to be, but that’s the reality of things.
 
What the Pistons did great this season (and last) was buy low on vets who were undervalued (though they did overpay slightly on Harris).

Sucks they lost Ivey, it would be interesting to see if he would be a difference maker in the series.

I don’t really care whether you take me seriously or not. But that’s not my argument at all. My argument is:

1. We knew we’d be bad for a few years to collect talent (tank).
2. For inexplicable reasons, we failed to commit fully to the tank until year 3.
3. Throughout this experience our scouting and drafting has been poor. The goal of the last 3 years was to collect talent that could one day be used to: (a) replace the aged star talent we sent packing or (b) be used as trade bait to for established stars. We’ve failed at both.

I look at our roster and it’s astonishing to see how little we’ve accomplished. And just because we “tanked well” enough this year doesn’t justify the years prior where we either weren’t poor enough to earn a top pick or drafted poorly (Cody Williams) despite having a good lotto pick.
