John Stockton has sharp criticism of Jazz

Pretty easy question to answer. We were the 1 seed and very close to contending. The Conley and Mitchell injuries really hobbled them and their ability to defend va the Clips. And score for that matter. But Gobert took all the blame. If we are healthy I think there’s a good chance we get to the WCF.

Right now we aren’t close to anything.
Yep, and most may not recognize this until we’re well into being nowhere. Hindsight will prove we were ****ed over bad by DL and QS (who tarnished what could have been amazing legacies), but nothing may compare to disaster unfolding after DL and Quin held Ryan and Danny’s beers.

But at the end of the day Mitchell wanted out and the wolves offered more than we thought possible

Dr. Carlos Buhler from SLC was largely responsible for Stockton, Malone and Bill Romanowski's incredible durability.

"A 4-time Super Bowl champion, Bill Romanowski was a linebacker in the NFL for 16 seasons. He credits his chiropractor, Dr. Craig Buhler, with helping him avoid missing a single game throughout his career.

“I was able to keep the streak of 243 straight games in 16 seasons in the NFL. I was so amazed at what Dr. Buhler was able to do with my body and well-being that I recommended him to the Broncos, Raiders and to many high level multi-million dollar athletes.”

I know Romo and he told me about Dr. Buhler and how he met him through Stockton. He thought for sure he was going to miss a game after a sprained ankle in a game with the Bronco's but Dr. Buhler worked his magic. Romo met with Buhler every week in season, either flying to SLC or having him fly to SF/DEN.
I need to find that guy lol.

I love Stockton, so smart player. Load management is terrible in ths new NBA. Guys paying 200 or 300$ to watch games and stars does not play! They should open the tickets for sale after teams publishing the list of available players.

I went 1 time to Memphis to see the Grizz playing. But it as an era where Mike-Zbo-Allen-Gasol were resting only when injured.... now there is no way living in Thailand i will spend 3 or 4000 dollars going to Minny or SLC and not watching the players i root for.

Can you imagine what would happen if management went to Stockton or Malone and said we want to have you not play this game and rest tonight no injury just take it off. They would’ve mutinied. Sloan never would’ve gone for that either.

I have another hypothesis: kids these days spend more time in front of different devices like phones and computers than they used to do 15-20 years ago and earlier. Its not good for they adulthood. Even kids that do sports do spend hours in awkward posture dabbling their "glass pacifiers". Add on this, that everywhere now more and more kids move to their hobby places by car instead biking there like most of my generation used to do. Kids sleep less than they used to do, and this is also with kids that do sports. They spend rather time in front of their screens..

Medical stuff has ofc improved all the time but it probably hasn't improved more than the damage done by changes in our society. I truly believe that athletes these days will break more easily due the social changes in our world.

The Stockton Malone picks back to back is a once in a life time kind of win the lotto kind of thing. That doesn’t happen every day.

We drafted DWill then paid Booz memo and AK and had nothing left to build a team. Decade later, we drafted Mitchell and Rudy and not even a star like Donovan could recruit other great players to Utah and that team the way it was constructed was never going to do anything, even after having a dominant number one record type of season the only way we’re going to build a championship. Caliber team is by tearing it completely down And hope to get lucky with draft picks yet we couldn’t do that because the Jazz tried to win their first two years after trading the two stars so as I see it the only way we are going to get championship worthy is by losing and losing a lot. How else are we going to build a championship level team? Tell me that please?
There have only been a few instances where it was obvious that a player "recruited" other good/great players to join them at a team changing level. That's not really a strategy. Plus Donovan was a young player and hadn't won **** so he had no credibility to be recruiting "great" players to Utah.

Watch one 90’s basketball game and you’ll understand how they could play all 82 lol.

Lot of old men yelling at clouds in this thread.

Plus while he was recruiting them, they were recruiting him. What sounds better, moving to "you go play in..." Utah or moving to Miami to get your guaranteed ring? Tough for anyone to recruit anyone else to Utah when the vast majority of players would rather be in the glitz and glamour of the coastal big cities. Just no way of that ever happening. So instead Mitchell ended up in Cleveland, at least he didn't run immediately to New York to try to build his superteam, so we can take some schadenfreude in his failure to win anything in 2 cities.
