According to Noem, American protestors are every bit as dangerous as Hamas! As bad and as dangerous as ISIS! What country is that nitwit living in? The homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem, on Wednesday compared antifa to MS-13, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic State, calling the loosely affiliated network of antifascist street activists “just as dangerous” as designated terrorist organizations during a White House roundtable discussion.
“They are just as sophisticated as MS-13, as TDA [Tren de Aragua], as Isis, as Hezbollah, as Hamas, as all of them, they are just as dangerous,” Noem said. “They have an agenda to destroy us, just like the other terrorists we’ve dealt with for many, many years.”
The roundtable featured rightwing social media journalists such as Andy Ngo, Nick Sortor, Katie Daviscourt and others who cover leftwing protests.
Some of the groups Noem cited – Hamas, Hezbollah and Isis – are formally designated terrorist organizations that control territory, operate military wings, maintain command structures and have carried out mass casualty attacks including bombings, kidnappings and assassinations.
Extremism experts have long described antifa, by contrast, as having no centralized leadership, formal membership or organizational structure, and it has generally been described by federal law enforcement as a decentralized movement of activists who engage in protest activity, some of which has included property destruction and street violence.

President Biden, for all his faults, did nail it, IMHO, when he said what we are going through at this moment in our history is a “battle for the nation’s soul”. We can see, easily enough, I believe, that we are fighting with each other, in part, over what it means to be an American. And each side has been willing to come close to demonizing the other side. I recognize the elements of a fascistic world view, in the words and ideas of Donald Trump, years ago. It never meant I viewed the rank and file of MAGA followers as Nazis, as dedicated fascists.
Rather, I recognized that many Americans do not know their history, do not know the conditions present in a society that encourages the development of fascist intolerance of “the others”. And I have beat my head against the wind, foolishly thinking, as it turns out, that all those fellow Americans needed was a little education in history. Naive!
When I attend a local No Kings rally this Saturday, it will be out of simple, and what should be understandable, concern on the part of every American, that such a turn toward a fascist world view is ruinous to American democracy. Millions of others will be joining me, across the United States. That’s love of country, not hatred of country.
Could it get more anti-American for Republicans to call the No Kings rally a “hate America” gathering? That is not just un-American, it’s flat out anti-American. If I disagree with the direction Trump is taking my country, I am a “terrorist”, and I “hate America”? How dare any American say such a thing?!
I would ask this: who the hell does MAGA, do Trump apologists, think they are? Who do they think they are to accuse us of hating our country? Quite frankly, how dare they EVER say such a thing?!
Speaker Johnson was, essentially, declaring war on anybody who dares protest Trump! He has declared Democrats as enemy combatants in an undeclared civil war. Can we be surprised if trouble breaks out, instigated by MAGA? Trump wants violence on Saturday, 10/18. That is what he wants to justify the Insurrection Act, and Martial Law. To further his pursuit of absolute power. It’s important not to give Trump any excuse to further his pursuit of a Putinesque United States.

My 103 year old grandmother is somehow finding a way to attend a rally in Florida. God bless her heart.
