What are Republicans doing to Unify the country?

Well, billions believe in a God, so that is already a normal thing to do, believe in things with zero evidence.

It's a small jump from religion to MAGA, that's why most mormons support a guy who brags about grabbing ***** and in every other way is the antithesis of a god-like person. The brainwashed are easily brainwashed. It's not just mormons of course, most religious Americans support the rapist pedophile. I bet a huge majority of atheists see right through his BS.

Man today I just found out about frazzledrip. Never heard of it before.
It refers to a non existent made up video on the dark web showing Hillary Clinton and an aide cutting the face off of a young girl and then wearing the face and looking at the girl to scare her as much as possible so her blood will have more adrenochrome which Clinton then drinks so she can look young.

Tons of people believed that this video exists. They are insane. They believe something with literally no proof and no smoke whatsoever but then won't believe anything about trump even with tons of smoke and circumstantial evidence and instead actually believe that trump is waging war on the deep state cabal of satanic pedophiles. Again with literally zero evidence/smoke.

Incredibly stupid cult behavior.

It’s all about incentives.

If you’re a bishop or pastor and you want to retain your job, you need to pretend to believe in this **** or else your congregation will accuse you of being liberal and anti Trump and leave.

If you’re in the business community, you need to pretend to believe in this nonsense or else risk the wrath of Trump or one of his cronies. Either they’ll make physical threats against you and your family or threaten your business.

If you’re a republican, you need to pretend to be a nut or else you’ll be primaried for being insufficiently trumpy.

If you have any ambition to rise in politics today, it’s much easier to sell out to the nuts where the billionaires and Russians are throwing out huge wads of cash than to stand up for principle or truth. Think about it, you could make a lot more money selling a bunch of rubes in the Ogden/Centerville/Farmington area quack cures instead of trusting in vaccines.

The problem is our electorate. Just too much free time, awful information environment, and a right wing movement predicated on fascism; enriching the few while finding scapegoats (globalists, immigrants, teachers, scientists, liberals, women, trans swimmers, etc) for everything else.

Yep. The power the unverifiable has over our species is nothing short of amazing, and terrifying all at the same time. Millions of muslims believe they need to kill infidels, meaning anyone who leaves the religion or any who "oppose" it, even if that opposition is just speaking out for human rights abuses. The death toll attributed to the Catholic Church over it's history is well into the millions. And even today billions of religious people of many different faiths, including but not limited to mainstream Christianity, most protestant and reformist christian sects, islam as a whole, and even Judaism in terms of who is generally in charge, and even some Buddhist texts, all hold that women are inferior to men, somewhere on the spectrum of simply "less important" overall to "actual property and open for capital punishment and full behavioral control", even if it isn't preached at the pulpit. Pagan ceremonies sacrificing humans to imaginary gods. Conquest of neighboring countries in the name of whatever religion has been commonplace over the course of human history. Even Hitler used religious beliefs as one of the excuses for the atrocities he committed, and the general populace defended them on the same grounds. And religion was the primary reason and excuse for empire building from the Ottoman to the Gupta to the Christian empires of Western Europe, and more. Hell the Bible was used to justify slavery in the United States, from the curse of Ham to the admonition of slaves to obey their masters. Yep, continual belief in the imaginary has been an insanely destructive force in the entire history of human civilization and society. The current wave of this is just the latest iteration. And others will come after.
