Absolutely brutal for Walker as he was on his way to his best season of his career.

I can't believe we didn't trade this guy last year.
Yeah, if multiple FRPs were in play, probably one we should have pulled the trigger on.
But he'll bounce back and I personally would love him with this group in the 4 year $80 million range.

Is this likely or Walker signing a one year deal to prove himself and get rid of the Jazz's RFA rights more likely.
That would be incredibly stupid and has virtually zero chance of happening.

I will still set the over/under at 4/100M for him this offseason. I also think the Jazz should approach him as early as possible to get the negotiation started to help repair some of the relationship here. If they send him out to the market I can see a 3+1 that limits his trade value and limits the long term upside of a deal.
Jazz will give him a team friendly 3+1 (team option) for around 100 million in total. He wont get boned, but he wont get a huge payday like Im sure his camp was angling for.
I’m pretty sure (reading tea leaves) we offered him around 20M/year and his camp wanted 30M/year. A 50M difference over the entire contract.
I think a 25M/year is a likely landing spot.

Absolutely no chance a team will just hand him a big multiyear deal after a serious shoulder injury without seeing him play.
Shoulders can be extremely tricky, particularly for post bangers. This may well be a career altering injury for Walker.
This sucks 
Really curious as to what the Jazz do in the short term. No way in ****ing hell Nurkic's body can hold up, even as a 25 MPG type of starter, for a full season.
Jazz will be forced to play Flip at the 5, which they seemingly dont want to do all that much of. Got to think they sign Bamba at some point.
