Walker Kessler out for the year

I genuinely believe with a healthy Walker Kessler we are a play in team right now for all of the hardcore tankers this injury is something they probably don’t mind because we probably secure a top 5 pick and his extension is gonna be cheaper now but it would’ve been fun to see this team at full strength.

Agreed but it would be even more fun to see this team at full strength with a legit future NBA MVP caliber player added to it imo

Yes, but Kessler is out for the entire season. . .
Yes he is.
This team would be fun to watch with Kessler on it but even more fun to watch with Kessler and a future NBA MVP caliber player on it so the Kessler injury might be a blessing in disguise.

Yes, one of those injuries that are hard to quantify and easy to exaggerate. A "convenient" injury someone might call it. I love it!

fwiw, Tim MacMahon seems to think there's a huge gap between Kessler's camp and the Jazz and thinks there's a very real possibility the Jazz end up sign-and-trading Kessler in free agency.

First reported on Jackpotting Around.

Andy also had an interesting interview on Spence Checketts yesterday.

Here's how I think this ends. Jazz don't make a good offer until Walk goes out to RFA. Walk goes out to FA and gets a 3+1 at a high enough dollar amount that gives the Jazz pause. They then match reluctantly and miss the opportunity to lock him up on a team friendly deal. The next 12 months there will be Walker trade rumors.

So we’ve come full circle back to KOC?

Honestly... KOC = Danny... fading out but still involved. Austin = DL... taking over but only part of the voice in the room.

Walker = Gordon. I don't think Walk gets a max but I can see a team going to 35M under terms we wouldn't love. Then when we don't sign anyone else good in FA we will hear a lot about a cake needing time to bake and how we gotta keep some powder dry. New core four?
