2025-2026 Tank Race Prediction Contest and Current Results Thread

Well boys, tonight was huge. We are now only up 2 games in the win column on Brooklyn and New Orleans. Games like tonight so so so huge. We would have been 4 wins up on Brooklyn with a win tonight.

When it's lotto night I wonder if we will have wished we had more L's or we will be wishing we had won more games with vets. I actually don't wonder at all, we all know the answer to that question.

I want whatever position lands us the top pick. Odds are highest losing but always sucks when some ******* 8+ jumps you.

It's kind of funny that people justify tanking or non-tanking based on winning an argument instead of how it affects the franchise. I'm not above trying to win an internet argument for funzies, but at the end of the it's kind of irrelevant what our expectations were. When the Jazz organization does what the tankies wanted to do all along we all celebrate the result and understand it's good (unless you're insufferable troll/whiner). I really like what the Jazz are doing right now and it's giving results. My only gripe is that we could have done it sooner/more often. If we had a stronger commitment out the gate, we could be in contention for the top spot. It's not perfect, but at least it's not half and half again.

I have no gripe with the timing. I believe the organization saw value in having 30 games or so of data for roster/system evaluation and our competitive level within the conference. Also there could the expectation and pushback from players/agents to play a minimum number of games and being showcased in a semi decent team for awards legibility/extensions. Also vets who expect to be traded. Pushback could also come from the coaching staff. At the end of the day, we are within reach of a top 4 position and at that point (we just lost to the tanking Nets at home :D), the odds of landing the top pick is just pure luck. One can argue we could have lost a couple of more games by playing Lauri fewer minutes, by I think the reasons above stand and we are still in a very good spot. The tank is rolling baby.

Tried telling them. People acted like the front office didn’t know we owed a top-8 protected pick.
Eh, I will always prefer to have better odds over worse odds and always prefer to do the smart thing sooner rather than later. I'm fine with agreeing to disagree though.
