Jazz inquire about Chris Copeland

THis may be the stretch 4 the Jazz are going after. He has the size at 6-9, Is a great shooter and could really help us stretch the floor. Don't know if his defense is really as bad as it looks or just the way the Knicks play defense. I personally would like this pickup if he is used as a stretch 4 off the bench

If you guys think this guy can play the 3 position than you have not watched anything besides his highlight reel. This guy is one of the worst man to man defenders. He is too slow to guard anyone on the perimeter.
He can only play the PF and can maybe play the SF in spurts against slower SF's. He isn't strong enough to play PF either if someone has a post game. Not that great of a rebounder either.

This guy has led feet. He barely gets off the ground. To give you an idea Kyle Korver has better lateral movement on defense than this guy.

Source: Cavs now in play for Copeland with a potential multiyear deal. Also Pacers might be working a trade to create space for savvy vet.

Told Chris Copeland has three offers to choose from. Since Knicks already used part of midlevel on Pablo offer, he's all but gone.

3 teams have extended offers to Chris Copeland but the Jazz are not among them, source says. Sounds like contact between camps has cooled.

Utah Jazz: Another quiet day on the free agency front; SF Chris Copeland's camp to talk again with Jazz on Thursday

Okay, this is looking promising.. I think if we give him a promise he'll start and/or will receive significant minutes as a 3rd big with HUGE playing time - why not????

Would rather have millsap for that role. I mean, if we are going to have to promise a guy minutes, might as well not be a scrub.

Domino effect seems to be developing here; With Big Al likely gone, that prolly puts Favors at C with Kanter and the big Rook. Now we need a b/u for Millsap, who likely returns. Enter Copeland... Definitely need to bring Carroll back at SF!!

I'd rather have Millsap back for what it will cost to get Copeland. I'd prefer to see him go also and fill the spot with a cheap guy, but it sounds like the Jazz want to invest in a PF to come off the bench behind Favors/Kanter. If they're going to pay that much to get one, I'd rather have the guy who has been there his whole career and played well for them during that time.

According to source, Copeland hasn't decided on offer sheet yet. Lakers very much in mix but have to wait on Dwight Howard. Indy, Utah, too.

Copeland is not a C, so I do not see why this would matter, unless the Lakers are his top choice.

There is something to be said for raising the bid for players so the competition has to pay more for them Even if the Jazz don't get the guy, they cost other teams more money by being in play.

Conversely though, that might make the market worse for their own players.

Just thinking out loud.

Indiana is finalizing agreement on a two-year deal with Knicks free agent Chris Copeland, league sources tell Y!

Not that this is a surprise after what happened today.
