1/7/15: Official Game Thread--Utah Jazz @ Chicago Bulls 6PM MT--ROOT, NBALP

Who was the defensive player of the year last year....? How'd Rudy look compared to him...? nuff said!

Favors playing aggressive. I love it.

I think him having Gobert help him out on defense will make him more aggressive. Hard to always be pumped up on both ends when you are the sole person able to defend anyone. Kind of like how Hayward gets frustrated on offense when no one else can create. He sees Gobert going hard on defense and it allows him to go harder since he doesn't have to worry as much or get frustrated with Kanter's broke ***.

Wow. What a showing. I was sure wrong about that game. Also anybody still calling for Q's head? Where is Franklin and his Ty Corbin is going to be vindicated crap now?

Hayward said tonight that it's really nice knowing you have a guy on the weak side to back him up.

Biggest Q of the year for me was:
can D-Fav and Bear play together?

Hell yes, they can. The Jazz have found their future frontcourt

X - X - Hayward - Favors - Gobert

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the pain from the Chicago Bulls message board:

Gobert is just abusing Gasol, he wants nothing to do with him.

Its annoying to coast through halves like this, but were in no danger of losing this game. None.

i think rudy gobert might be the best player in the league

Gobert is pretty impactful. He's SUPER raw but he's very active out there.

I've long been a fan of Gobert, but the degree to which he's destroying us is sad.

Just stop Pau. Getting Gobliterated.

is it possible for us to not go at gobert every single possession

We're getting blown out by a team that's shooting under 40%, is 11 games under .500, and we're at home

Gobert is eating souls out there.

Do the bulls have a team pet, and did someone stomp it to death before the game?

Trade Kanter's *** pronto. Don't need a 3rd big with those 2 beast.

This.

Especially since it seems like our 2 guard position is now our worst position. Burks is gone for the season and Hood can't seem to stay healthy. Normally trading a big for a small is dumb. But this is one of those few exceptions. Trade Kanter for a good 2 guard.

Grade Kanter to the lakers for Kobe...

There are 96 minutes to divvy up between the 4 and 5 spots: Gobert, Favors and Kanter each gets 30 and Booker gets 6. that way our bigs don't get worn out during the regular season. On occasion, move Booker to the 3 to make sure he gets 20 minutes. Of course, it all depends on Kanter being willing to come off the bench and accept a $10 million offer.

My current favorite comedian, and local Chicagoan, tweeted this:

Just watched the Jazz hang a dub on the Bulls and then we had to walk out into -2 degree weather. Byron Russell is somewhere cackling.

Wow. Great win. All aspects, all players were looking good. While everyone is rightfully praising Gobert, I think Dfavs is missing a little bit o' love from us fans. He is the reason why DF & Rudy can play together. He's showing his offense capability now and it will get better still. DF in PnR could be really good if we get someone who can pass it to him. (could be burke if chose to.)
.
Still a positive note, but on the other end of the spectrum is Lil' Sap. He plays the right way. He's a bit lost still, but in short order he will be a nice glue guy.
.
The thought of Kanter coming back and accepting a role on the bench, but playing 28mpg would be great.
.
Exum will be good. He will be good at D and O. He will grow up and be a force, i'm certain.
.
And of course Gobert is great and while i'm shocked at folks putting him the same sentence as Lebron, i'm on the bandwagon as to him becoming a big time player.

Trey had a pretty decent game. If he can play like that all the time, then we'll be in really good shape. You can tell that having Gobert behind him helps out his confidence a lot on defense.

That's one heck of front line to be honest. Imagine adding Dragic (then once Exum is ready), and then a 3 and D guy or shooter.

Really solid game on offense and defense for him. Exum also did well on defense.

Easily the most impressive win of the year. One of the most impressive in many years in fact...they just went into Chicago and shut them down, and Utah was the team not at full strength. I was not expecting that at all. The shortening of the lineup played real well tonight.
