Game Thread Jan 09, 2025 07:00PM MT: Miami Heat @ Utah Jazz

I don`t get to watch many games as they start @ 3 am my time, but I did watch the 2nd half tonight. If this game is representative, it seems to me that there is a pretty easy path for us to get decent real quick again. Replacing Collier and Williams with average NBA players would make us much...

It's time for a flat (non-playoff team) draft lottery

Yeah, it would most likely be a **** show, but still a fun concept.

It's time for a flat (non-playoff team) draft lottery

A suggestion from a years back I find intriguing, is to wiat until a team is mathematically out of the play offs and then start counting wins. Whoever racks up the most wins after they are automatically out, gets the number one pick. This would add so much fun to the last third of the season and...

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I really don`t envy the team that falls for his play over the last few games and trades for him just to max him out in the off-season.

Brice, Svi and Juzang - the last man standing

The salary you are referring to in 27-28 includes Brice`s qualifying offer. Very, very few players end up on that. The season before the difference in salaries between them is only 2 million and for this season and next, the Ju-Zang Clan actually makes more than Brice.

Game Thread Dec 19, 2024 05:00PM MT: Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons

Huh? We lost there in 2022. Before this we had a ten game win streak with the previous loss being in 2016.

Should the NBA abolish the 3 point line?

I just don`t understand why people are nostalgic about players like Derrick Favors spotting up from mid-range.

    2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

If we traded for Randle and did not play him in a contract year, he and his agent would rightfully be pissed at us. It would make it even harder to get established players to want to come to Utah if the perception around the league was that we stood in the way of players getting their bags.

    2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Removing the protections on the 29 pick would be sweet, but Randle would probably win us a couple of games more than just rolling with JC.

So what would be the point of the trade? Randle would come here to ball to get a new deal somewhere else. We don`t need players that raise our floor like that,

    2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

The only available Pelican that could be a game changer for us would be Zion. If he really is available for a pick, Collins and Svi work as salary going out. Sit him for the rest of the year and the team will be even worse with Collins gone. If Zion does not get his **** together, we can cut...

    2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

You don`t think he would look good next to AD? They have Hachimura and Vincent that combined cover Collins` salary.

How can the Jazz neutralize Lauri?

He`s a Nordic dude so offer him to take out some of the mandatory parental leave months we are required to take over here. We could make it our own version of the superstar treatment.

The last game of the season

The first scenario also involves a very small possibility of us getting two top four picks, which is not possible in the second scenario.

Should Cody spend time in the G LEAGUE

The Curry-path with him taking a way below-market valued contract would be absolutely perfect for us so this is kind of a dream scenario.

Should Cody spend time in the G LEAGUE

Why does it have to be only one of the due at specific times of the year? I just can`t see the logic as to how this is the best way to improve. I am guilty too of being lazy with my usage of "The American Way". What I mean is that the focus from a very young age seem to be to play as many games...

Should Cody spend time in the G LEAGUE

I know this is the American way, but too me this is just the lazy answer. If "playing basketball" always the best way for young prospects to realize their potential? I think it is pretty clear that this is not always the case.

Should Cody spend time in the G LEAGUE

I`ve never understood that the only way to develop players in the US is to play them. In Europe, young talents get a few minutes here and there in spots where they are able to succeed. They spend a lot of time on the practice field and do not play until they are good enough. If Cody Williams`...

    2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

There is also an added value here in making Atlanta better. Helping them be a play off-contender lessens the chances of their pick, that is owned by San Antonio, being good.
