He has the tools (speed, IQ, Drive, and handle) to be an elite QB for this offense. His lack of height can be overcome. will he be elite defender? probably not, but he can be a service defender and elite offensively which is certainly more than a serviceable PG.

Many posters have referenced Smart's drive and "anything to win" mentality which is cool. but if this was really the case why wouldn't he slim down a bit? carrying that extra weight slows him down and limits his explosiveness. Your argument has holes. AB was one of the top two most effective scorers on the team (ability to penetrate, shoot and get to the line). there are 30 teams in the league, you want your most effective scorers on the floor. this would mean that AB should have been in the top 60 in minutes...
