Yeah…Grimes fills nicely into most teams, and while his run with the Sixers might not be real it does indicate he has some potential. I don’t think Giddey and Kuminga really work as scaled down players.

I don't think Locke's assessment today of Ace is unfair, but it does demonstrate our flawed understanding of potential. Potential is way more than just physical attributes.

I'd give JK the edge over Giddey as an overall prospect....Giddey has a better chance to succeed in UTA though.

I’m pretty sure the franchise will implode if Hendricks and Lauri play the 3 and 4 together. The Jazz will cease to exist so can’t have that happen.

Kuminga and Giddey are basically in the same boat as players/prospects. Think I’d prefer Giddey just because of the type of player he is. We are over indexed on prospects with low IQ and want to score.

Giddey is going to want $30M AAV on a long deal. I think I like him more than most, but that is a heavy investment.

I was under the impression that he was closer to NAW, but if the Sixers are willing to go 4/$75 I'd just leave it alone. I wouldn't be interested in any kind of true long term deal for Grimes. Only a 3/$75 that's really a 2/$50.

Ace's tough shot making is a reflection of 1) unique ability to make tough shots 2) the inability to get less tough shots.

I would consider Grimes and I guess Isaiah Jackson is also an RFA. I'm sure we could get something at deadline salary dump wise, but I would take those guys over potential salary dumps. Grimes depends on the offer though.

Isaiah Jackson is also someone I would be taking a look at with our cap space. He tore his achilles last year, but he's young and was quite good before going down. I would be willing to work with him through his rehab and hope we get a decent center on the other side.

The only real problem I have with taking a flier on Kuminga is that he likely cut into the development of other players. If we don't to attempt to develop young players with some warts, we might as well give up on half our roster lol. We have a lot of young players who are not very good yet...
