Lauri Markkanen Hype & Appreciation Thread

With his combination of upside, versatility, and personality, there are few players that I would currently trade Lauri for. I think that we have our 1B star for the future. Do we need to reiterate how much of a stud Ainge is?!!!

    Dame Time

I would have loved Dame about 5 years ago, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it, though. However, if we got Maxey instead, he seems to be the type of young PG that we would need.

    Extend Lauri now

It's not a bad idea at all. I only see Lauri getting better. He has a strong work ethic and attitude. What was so promising last year was how incredible he was, and I don't feel that he even really got his outside shot going. His inside attacking game was surprising.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I am down with the core 4 of Lauri, Kessler, Ochai, and Sexton. Dump everything else and build for the future. This offseason is going to be epic with the draft picks and cap space.

Lauri Markkanen Hype & Appreciation Thread

Lauri is definitely a part of the future, pretty much untouchable at this point. He hasn't even reached his potential yet.

Game Thread Dec 26, 2022 06:00PM MT: Jazz at Spurs

When the Jazz have been healthy, which has been rare recently, they are quite good. Let's start another winning streak, boys!

How do you rate the Rudy trade so far?

Another thing that is so great about the Jazz's current situation is that they are getting great production out of cheap contracts. Out of all the players on the team, does anyone strike you as someone that would demand a big contract outside of Markkanen? Plus, they already have Sexton on a...

Who have you been most wrong about?

What is crazy is that I now see Clarkson as a part of the long-term plan. His loyalty to the franchise and his switch to more of a leader/facilitator has been incredible.

Is Olynyk a taller Joe Ingles?

The Horford comparison is actually a really good one. He is clutch, savvy, good passer, high IQ, etc. I have been very pleasantly surprised on how big of an impact he has made.

All Aboard The Official 2022-23 Championship Tank Thread

A couple of main points: 1. The Jazz have actually played good teams, so the competition has been there 2. They have showed that they can get up big on teams, so there is a certain level of superiority that has been shown 3. Sure, they have lost those leads, but unlike in previous years, they...

    2023 NBA Draft Megathread

It's gonna be insane when the Jazz's own pick is not great because they make the playoffs, and the other two picks are the ones that turn out well.

Game Thread Oct 14, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Mavericks (Preseason)

As has been mentioned, the refreshing part is that there seems to be chemistry and a lot of hustle. Even though he has absolutely no offensive game, I really like Vanderbilt. He is the type of gritty, hustle guy that this team has needed in the past. It's a shame, but Vando and even Olynyk are...

Where Do You Live? Inside Utah or Outside? (poll)

Originally from Virginia, but have been living in Colorado for the last several years of my life. Jazz fan in Nugget land.

Which new Jazz players are you most excited to watch this year?

I'm probably most excited to see Markkanen, the rich man's Dirk. However, Vanderbilt is going to be a lot of fun. If he was on the team from the last couple of years, he may have been that spark that put us over the top.

LAST TEN TEAMS - prediction preseason update.

A part of me feels that this team will significantly overperform to the chagrin of management and threaten to make the playoffs. I saw a breakdown in which the Jazz may have the best offense in the league (the 3 point shooting will be glorious), but the D could be dead last.

    Jazz Media / Content Day

I have a small feeling that this team may be much better than we all expect and sneak into the playoffs.

    2023 NBA Draft Megathread

In the back of my mind, I feel that this team is going to ball out this year with the amount of young talent that will be super motivated, and screw up this year's tank. We will compete for a play-in spot, and our own pick will be late lottery. The bright side is that our current roster would...

    EuroBasket Thread

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm actually more excited this season than last season. Last year, it seemed that we were retreading the tires and had made no real improvements. The chemistry issues were clear and there was no discernible direction. Although the wins may not be there, I feel...

    Hornacek is back

This is actually a great move. It should build some goodwill, plus he could potentially serve as a solid shooting coach.

    DA/JZ Press Conference

What's interesting is that it's possible that Don and Rudy may not make an All Star game on their new teams. Are they even the second best player on each team? Garland and Mobley are likely going to both be better than Mitchell. KAT and Edwards may be better than Gobert.
