#1 Pick to Utah?

No they won't. They'll be decent rotation players, and you know it.

They very well may turn out to be but small market teams that trade away future first rounders become perennial losers. Our best hope to get all stars is in the draft. Our futures are more important than Favors.

LOL.. so you're' saying "No" to #5 and our future 1st round pick... (likely to be #8 or worse next year) for the #1 pick?

What are you high on?

Why do I bother responding to you when you seem to be incapable of following the basic points being discussed?

These picks will probably all be much higher/later in the draft than where Favors was selected. The odds support my argument that they will not pan out or be better than Favors. Granted I'm willing to give up 3 of them, but we'd also be getting the top 1/2 guy in the draft. Quality over quanity.

Anyways heyhey I do appreciate the other side. cheers

Jody Genessy: Haven't been able to confirm @Joe Kotoch report that Jazz are in talks with Cavs to send #5 pick, Derrick Favors to Cavs for #1 pick. Derrick Favors' camp hadn't heard that the center is rumored to be included in a possible trade between the Jazz and Cavaliers

My main concern over this is who's going to play defense. Favors may not get much better, but he might. He is our #1 defensive presence. Let's not forget that these players, probably all of them to some extent, have been mishandled and poorly coached by Corbin. A better coach could make all of them better if they are used properly. Not saying I would definitely not do this, but I would really hate to see Favors go.

I'd much rather give up a top 8 pick next year than Favors, but Cleveland wants players ready to help now, or they wouldn't consider trading the #1 pick.

Interesting to say the least. Would I do it? Sure. It would be sad to see Favors go but like many have said, he isn't going to reach his ceiling like many have said throughout this thread. I think you have to take the chance that you are going to get a superstar here. I don't know how to feel about Parker at 1 though. I probably prefer Wiggins but whatever. If we take Parker then it will be because DL thinks he is a better player long term and he knows more than we do.

If the Jazz do this trade, I am fine with trading Favors. I like Favors but I don't think he has star potential. I would do it for Wiggins without even thinking about it and might do it for Parker.

If the Jazz truly have Wiggins and Parker 1a&b then I would draft Wiggins and then see who is on the board at 3. I would call Philly and say draft Parker or whoever the Jazz really want but you have to give us the 10th pick too.

Jazz draft Parker #3 and Gordon at #10. Maybe Embiid drops all the way to ten and then you swing for the fences. Now that would make DL a freak'n basketball GOD.

I would also be happy to take Wiggins and say Thompson or Zeller (ok backup) to get the deal done.

My first thought on this yesterday was it's too much to give up, but as I'm thinking about it today I'm more on board with it. 11 of the last 16 championship teams had a #1 pick heavily contributing to get that ring. If we need to give up a guy like Favors to land someone in this territory I think we have to do it.

That said it's the Jazz involved in a rumor, we don't usually get involved in true rumors, so I'm sure nothing will happen and we take Noah at 5.
