It's that 6-24 I found troubling. Why the steep drop-off? I don't for a second believe players were purposely "tanking," especially those in their contract year. IMO, combination of assorted injuries, a normal let-down as losing continues, and the fact that teams fighting for playoff position turn it up a notch and start to shorten rotations. Normally, I'd say we can't expect the same type of drop-off from this team. But without a SG, who knows?

I completely agree about the 6-24 misery business after the All-Star break. Besides the factors you mentioned, part of me thinks that guys may have dialed it in to a point due to believing that Ty wouldn't be back.

Huge improvement this year. First the offense has come. And lately the Jazz are playing strong defense with the frontcourt of G - DFav - Bear...
Next year this team can have -1 even 0 point differential, 40 wins.

I was making a case for why the records were identical, comparing positions. I've said numerous times I think this team is in a much better place, with a much better foundation to build on than last year's team, even if some don't think so based purely on W/L's.

I said 27 wins before the season. Even though we look like we are going to end up real close to that we are doing better than I expected. The improvement is plain to see if you watch the games.

Since players never tank, ever, I think it's safe to assume that our players weren't tanking. As for our play down the stretch, there a lot of teams playing for a draft pick, and even some of the playoff teams are resting players, especially against bad teams. Hard to say Utah was losing because everybody else turned it up a notch. This year, Utah is going to have a tough time managing the tank around Rudy the tank killer. I believe that Utah has a draft position targeted that they don't want fall below, but Rudy is going to have something to say about that, so things could get interesting.

Confusing me with framer? You're doing him a huge disservice. Framer: author of the greatest thread in Jazzfanz history. Stifle Tower: charlatan, snake oil salesman.

You need to beg forgiveness from "Framer the Great."
 
OK, just to update: the Jazz are 16-30 now, which exactly matches the last season's record at the same point. To reach it in 2014 the Jazz played a good and scrappy game against a superior team, the Warriors. The teams traded the lead all game, and the Jazz went into the 4th leading by several points. Then they lost the lead in the end and the Warriors won by 5 points. The Jazz were excited and optimistic since they played that game without Favors.
 
If you are saying this years team and last years are similiar based on record, maybe you should try watching the games!!!
