My personal draft board is changing a little.

1. Irving
2. Derrick Williams
3. Kemba Walker
4. Knight
5. Biyombo
6. Jonas Valaciunas
7. Burks
8. Leonard
9. Terrence Jones
10. Kanter

I don't really want to think about players lower than that.

Irving looks like a potential all-star. Derrick Williams could be a more efficient Carmelo. Kemba is going to be a good undersized scoring point. Other than that you are taking talented projects.

Personally I want the team to mirror's Memphis game play of tough athletic players mixed in with skilled players.

I am probably higher on Valaciunas than many. It is just rare for an 7'0" tall player to have his hands and to shoot 70% from the field in a pro league along with 92% from the line.

You might be right, but the Collins' weren't great or versatile scorers. If you're telling me I can have a Jason Collins or Jarron Collins pre-injury that can hit 3s and has a back-to-the-basket game (even if it's not great, just that it exists), I might just go get one of those. Where the playing time comes from is another question.

I'm smelling a nefarious smokescreen ordered by KOC here. Find Jonas' worst performance, mislabel his height by one inch (he is 6'11 without shoes per DX), and hopefully convince other GM's to pass. Locke repeatedly shows Jonas unable to finish, but ignores he is a 70% FG shooter in euro league play (that would lead the NBA, by the way). While most prospects stats are based on the weaker spanish, adriatic, baltic, leagues, Jonas has to compound his stats in the much tougher euro league. Are we lucky to have KOC or what?

The larger point is both Aminu and Jones might turn out to be good players. But it's going to take years while we're paying them 6 money. It's just a bad bet.

T. Jones has some really good NBA ready moves. He just takes bone-headed shots. If he gets his head on straight he is a one of the best talents in the draft. Personally I am betting against him getting it all figured out.

I am pretty sure that I don't want Jones with out higher pick. But at 12 we could do worse.
 
Yeah, I'm thinking right now the top four for the Jazz should be pretty set, at least in my mind. Things can change of course, but we have:

1/2. Irving, Williams
3/4. Biyombo, Kanter.

5-12 is really interesting. Knight is probably 5 on my board currently. 6 is wide open. Burks? Don't know if he warrants that high a pick. Vesely seems okay to me to be at six. 7 would probably be Valanciunas. 8 is Burks. 9 is maybe Motiejunas. 10 I guess can be Walker. Not high on him. 11...Kawhi Leonard? 12 is wide open. Fredette? Hamilton? Either Thompson?
 
I think the Jazz will look to go big with their first pick if they don't get into the top 3. They need a real center who likes to rebound to be part of a 3-man big rotation with Favors and Jefferson, someone to basically replace Okur and Fess. So it makes sense to grab a talent like Kanter/Biyombo/Vallanciunas if they're available at 6 or 7. Brandon Knight could change that thinking if he works out and interviews really well, but it's unlikely. I don't think drafting Kemba Walker would really result in more wins.

The second pick is tougher to call. They could look to replace Ronnie Price and Earl Watson with Reggie Jackson or Jimmer. This is most likely, since the Jazz's back court needs help. They could get an SF to play the wing next to Hayward, which would be T. Jones, Vesely or Leonard depending on who is available at 12. If Montiejunas is available, I could see the Jazz taking a flier on him, just because he's a bit of a unique talent who can shoot and who could possibly spend some time at the wing like Tony Kukoc did.

Biyombo/Kanter with the top pick and Jimmer/Jackson/Jones/Montiejunas with the 2nd pick would be a good draft.
 
I watched the video highlights and read Lockes breakdown on utah jazz.com of Jan Vesey and Jonas Valanciunas. I don't like Locke's play by play, but I love him in the offseason. The video breakdowns are great.

KOC may have set him up with a bad game from Jonas Valanciunas. I hope that Locke and the Jazz learned from last years Hayward booing debacle. Locke can break down players, but he better have some nice things to say about all the potential picks just in case.....

After watching Jan Vesey and Jonas Valanciunas, the jazz should find Dr Doofenshmirtz to make them a combinenator and make Janas Veseunas. 6'-11" great hands, shoots a great percentage, active, great leaper, blocks shots, defends in the post adn the wing, lots of enthusiasm and energy. Great system guy.
