The player I want least is Kanter. People like him because he had one good game.

No, for the most part people like him because he has great skills along with great fundamentals, showing that he is intelligent. He also doesn't seem to have character issues. I fail to see what isn't good about those things. If you would like to offer some reasonable explanations as to why you don't think he is a good fit for the Utah Jazz I would love to hear them. Along with who you would like to draft.

By chance, how many times did you see Kawhi play this year?

I'm going to be honest, I've only seen him play against BYU and in the tournament, so I haven't really seen very much of him. However what I did see, I liked. He is by no means a finished project, has potential but most importantly is a hard worker. Finding a mixture of athleticism with work ethic is not something you see a lot.

Since Jimmer hasn't been brought up in about 10 minutes, I've got a theory why the Jazz won't draft Jimmer (and yeah, it's probably a little biased):

Drafting Jimmer creates a sideshow. With everything a little volatile right now, I doubt KOC wants the headache of daily media scrutiny about how Jimmer's doing, when Jimmer's going to play, why isn't Jimmer playing, should Jimmer be benched, should Jimmer get more minutes, how does Jimmer feel, how does he feel about how he feels, how do you feel about how he feels.

A stable team like we used to have could probably have absorbed this. Next year's team needs as few distractions as possible.

Great skills and fundamentals as proven at the High School level?

He isn't a sure thing at all. Not to mention the injury concerns about his knees.

You're right. I should have said I don't believe KOC wants to subject himself to the Jimmer sideshow entirely. In other words, I don't think he'll draft Jimmer at 12 even if he's BPA on the Jazz board for this reason. The difference in BPA at that point is too marginal to deal with all other stuff.

Then why did KOC draft Hayward, don't get me wrong I love Hayward and I am glad that KOC picked him, but whenever he did pick him didn't he get the "Utah only drafts white guys" and "he wasn't the BPA, it was a reach"? The Jazz were a lock to draft Ed Davis if he was available at #9, heck I was expecting to hear his name called, but KOC went against everybody and took a reach to draft Hayward.

For some reason I think KOC is going to draft Jimmer Fredette at #6 over someone like Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight who were available too. To tell you the truth I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmer on the Jazz I think everyone kind of wants to see Jimmer play for the Jazz the only question is will the Jazz take him? What if he has a great combine? What if he shows some great defense? What if he shows great footwork and some speed?

BYU assistant coach Dave Rice explained: "We can’t afford to have him in foul trouble. He’s a much, much better defensive player than he’s given credit for. A lot of that is part of our game plan.”

Deron Williams is a pretty good defensive point guard right?

Would probably be more effective in college if he (Deron Williams) wasn’t relied upon so heavily on the other end of the floor.

Nobody really knows if he is a bad or a good defender right now, so we will see.

No bigger circus than when Derrick Rose, who is from Chicago, was drafted by the Bulls or when LeBron, who is from Akron, Ohio, was drafted straight out of high school by the Cavaliers. He would be a player that literally the entire state could rally behind. Something like this would be unprecedented in Jazz history. IMO, the Jazz's primary need in this draft is at point guard, as I don't think that Devin Harris is our answer at that position. However, I really do feel that we are set at the other four positions (SG: Gordon Hayward, SF: Paul Millsap, PF: Derrick Favors, C: Al Jefferson) as far as starters go. We really just need a starting point guard and bench depth to be a serious contender.

P.S. Not literally everyone here could rally behind drafting Jimmer. The way I see it, he's a poor/white-man's Mormon Jo Bro Gilbert Arenas without the athleticism. At best. I don't care for that and I am ****ing sick of hearing about the kid. It's like David Lee mania but 100 times worse.
