2011 draft.....

The Jazz benefit greatly if a bidding war for Kanter ensues. I'd bet that KOC's only interest in keeping #3 is if Williams were to fall to them, and the chances of this happening are increased if teams like Washington try to jump into the top 3. If he feels like the chances of Williams at #3 are poor, then he takes the money and runs... getting his man (Knight) anyway at #5 or #6.

I'd be surprised if we didn't see some 'fanning of the flames' for selecting Kanter in the next few weeks. The strength of our position is directly correlated with the rise in his stock. And, hell, if it turns out that we actually pick him, then fine.

Personally, as of today, I'm a fan of trading #3 for both of Washington's first round picks.

I wouldn't (just a different opinion).

Kanter >

#6 - Knight
and
#18 - whoever is left at that point

I feel with a #3 (THREE!) pick we have to swing for a big time player. I feel Irving, Williams, and Kanter are the ONLY three that fit that description at a high certainty.

I don't buy it, but I thought it was relevant enough to post, but Feldman was tweeting last night and said:

the Jazz are definitely targeting a PG

I'm hearing the Jazz could go either way w/ Kemba or Knight, but sounds like they prefer Kemba at this point

He even goes so far as to say that if DWill falls to the Jazz that they might look to trade down. Like I said, I don't buy it, but having said that, I do think I'm starting to change my tune on Knight and if KOC is dead set on taking a PG first (please don't) I think I'd lean more towards Kemba at the moment.

I hope KOC does not take a PG at 3 either, but if he does, I hope (and feel certain it will be) it's Knight.

Is Feldman the Hoopsreport guy? because he was also claiming yesterday that his source from within the Jazz organization said the Jazz want Kemba over Knight and are looking at options to trade down from the 3 pick.

I'd be ALL IN for selecting Kanter if that guaranteed we would trade Jefferson.

KOC is served best by waiting out any possible trade for #3. In the meantime I'm sure he is exploring offers for Al and Paul (sigh). If they get the right one, then I'd bet we'll select Kanter. I agree that he is probably the 3rd best prospect in this draft... it's just that Knight, Walker, and Biyombo are not that far behind IMO

The only reason I can think that the HoopsReport guy was reporting that the Jazz are targeting a PG is that KOC is looking to trade either Paul/Al + #12, in knowing that he’s going to get either DWill or Kanter at #3, to land either Knight/Kemba, which is what I would do if I were the KOC.

That would be pretty awesome, but having depth will be an issue if we do that. We'll go from over-loaded in the front-court to slightly weak on depth IMO.

Not sure if I explained it right, but here's an example. Not sure if Toronto got a TPE for Bosh, but say they did. We trade #12 and Al to them for the #5. We get Kanter or DWill at #3 and at #5 we take Knight or Walker. Does anyone have KOC's digits? I think I'm on to something here.
