2011 draft.....

Can someone tell me if this is really true? Greg Miller just said on KFAN, with lots of hemming, hawing & qualifications, that they will take Jimmer at 12 if he's there, mainly due to merchandise sales, unless KOC flatout thinks he can't play.

Done deal, no more discussion needed.

Did the above really happen or was this person writting a comment to the article up in the night?

Thats not what Greg said. More like if Jimmer is ranked 13-15 on KOC's draft board, the Jazz MIGHT move him up if there is not a big diffeernce in players. He did mention that fan interest might be considered because Jimmer is such a big deal.

Greg did say the pro-Jimmer crowd is telling him to draft Jimmer at a rate of 20-1 for those who tell Greg not to draft Jimmer. If you want to share your opinion tell Greg: https://twitter.com/#!/GregInUtah

How about we trade our #3 and #12 for Rondo and the Celtics #25?

C's need a center (Kanter), we need a PG. Another post with bias, I admit.

I don't think Rondo would be as good as he is without Allen, Garnett and Pierce around him. I'd pass on that deal.

Holy god no. I don't know that I'd want Rondo (and his contract) for Okur straight up.

Fair enough. Just curious, who would you pick at #3 if both Irving and Williams are gone?

If I had to take a player, Knight.

Ideally I'd gauge interest in Kanter/Knight as best I can and hopefully trade the pick to a team who wants Kanter and then select Knight while getting additional asset(s).

Rip has 2 years left.

People....we are rebuilding. We do not want a player like Rip. Seriously. I just......wow.

When have the Jazz ever just said screw it, we aren't paying any big salaries, and we are just going to stick to the youth movement? There have been no comments to suggest that they are just rebuilding. KOC and Greg miller have had quotes recently stressing getting back into the playoffs.

We are already paying so much in salaries that they can't afford to just go youth and hope for the best. Plus getting Rip fills a need, and if we didn't trade Okur (who KOC said today might not come back) for Rip we will have to go sign or resign another wing anyway if we don't draft one.

I don't think that this trade is the greatest trade ever, but to say the Jazz are just rebuilding and would never do something like this I think is incorrect.

How can you not want this guy on the Jazz? He just described himself as the greatest basketball player in the league.

The problem is Rip's value is much lower than what he's being paid. Losing 10 mil off your salary cap for Rip is nuts.
