2011 draft.....

The truth is that basketball prospects are the hardest to evaluate of the major sports. No one knows what they are talking about and that includes people who work in front offices. It is a complete crapshoot unless you have guys like LeBron or Tim Duncan available.

Chad Ford has no idea. He thought Darko was going to be a perennial All-Star.

Givony has no idea. Go read DraftExpress's profile of Ronnie Brewer. It is laughable. He projects Brewer as an NBA PG who handles the ball similar to a Brandon Roy. Brewer's handle was no terrible. No way could he be a primary ball handler for an NBA team.

I disagree. Baseball is the toughest sport to truly evaluate talent in. The word "potential" gets thrown around more in baseball than any other sport.

I really hope Kanter is still the man for Utah. Unless behind closed doors they see that he's clearly overrated.

I'm fine with Bismack or someone else only if they are convinced Kanter is not their man. If they blow this pick it will
come back to bite us big time. We don't have to get an all-star here, but we have to get a player that clearly improves the team.

Please get this right KOC.

A athletic freak with a legit center's wingspan yeah i'd take him on the jazz. After watching a couple prospects play defense and watch Biyombo. It's no comparison.

Are you comfortable with the fact he could be 22 with no offensive game developed whatsoever? If that's the case we are looking at a shot blocking version of Reggie Evans, possibly Ben Wallace at best.
If he is really 18 then there would be hope, and possibly worthy of a #3 pick in a weak draft.

Until someone with medical expertise has examined Biyombo and opposes this Doctor's opinion saying Biyombo is 22 is ignorant.

The one thing that continues to dog Biyombo are the question marks NBA teams have about his age. Recently converted NBA draft analyst David Aldridge wrote that an NBA GM he spoke with said he had heard rumors that Biyombo was “anywhere from 23 to 26.”

Our research has revealed some slightly different information. Coaches who have worked with Biyombo earlier in his career while he was still in Congo think he's “no older than 20 at most,” while Biyombo's agent, Igor Crespo, has evidence that proves Biyombo is even younger.

Crespo says he took Biyombo to a specialist to conduct a bone age study immediately upon his arrival in Spain (Biyombo was reportedly 16). The study, as explained here involves taking x-rays of an adolescent's wrist and hand to see if his growth plates are still open. Because the cartilage in Biyombo's hand hadn't fused at that point, the specialist came to the conclusion that he could be 16 or 17 at most, but not 18, when growth plates are expected to be closed.

This obviously rules out the possibility of Biyombo being five to eight years older than he's listed, as the wild speculation we've seen recently on the Internet indicates. Crespo says he will willingly share these x-rays with any NBA team that requests them. One team we spoke with has already begun to evaluate the x-rays.

DX has their video up on Kanter. His defensive effort is laughably bad, extremely Boozer-esque.

Contrary to popular belief I am NOT pimping Kanter. I shared some behind-the-scenes insight and then have refrained from much discussion on the matter. Having said that ...

How does this NOT show an agenda with Givony? How can you take the opposite of a highlight reel and give it anymore credence than a highlight reel. I'm sure, if he wanted to, he could have put together a highlight reel that made Kanter look like a defensive monster.

From what I've seen, I'd call Kanter a slightly below average defender (not bad, just not an 'average' NBA PF/C). However, he does have the tools and desire and I believe he'll easily become average. He's a great scorer and an elite rebounder.

Dude you are a clown. The video has Kanter doing good and bad stuff. He also included an offensive reel that made him look very good at times. You are a clown.

At the end of the day I want KOC to draft a basketball player - this is why I was applauding the Hayward pick from the beginning. Can the guy play basketball? That's my main concern. Biyombo looks like the sexy pick, but I would prefer my team to be able to play 5 v 5 on offense instead of 4 v 5. Can Biyombo improve? Yes. But he's still a project. This is why I've been on the Kanter or Williams/Jimmer or Burks or Thompson bandwagon from the get-go. Have I seen enough of Kanter to say exactly what he'll be in the league? No. But he looks like he should be just fine in the league, and so do the others, and if they improve even a little I think they can be great.

Really? Interesting take.

You say Givony has an "agenda" against a player just because he doesn't reguritate what every other draft website says. He is actually going out and doing his own research to formulate an opinion. You can't take that he has found a weakness in the player you obviously have wet dreams about.
