I want to thank both PwnasaurasRex and PMK for their opposing views on Kanter. I really liked the new videos of Kanter posted on Draftexpress. In watching the videos I have never seen less defense being played by big guy. That being said, what I found funny was that despite a complete lack of defense by Kanter the other teams big couldn't make a shot. This leads me to believe that Kanter was baiting some of these bigs to shoot. They were terrible. Kanter wanted them to shoot. It was also nice to see an offense video that didn't have him making every shot he put up. Still he seemed to have great range on his jump shot and very good feet.

I believe Kanter is an excellent offensive player who will need to work harder than he ever has on defense. But for my money Kanter is still my selection.

Not disputing the fact that he is 18 or 19, but it was NBA scouts at the Hoops Summitt who questioned his age. Would not be the first this has happened. Dikembe for instance.

Yeah, Kanter is clearly 100x the player than any of the opponents he was playing against in Prep School. The lack of any real competition probably had something to do with how lazily he played. It's still alarming though. There are many posters on this board who think he will be able to come into the league and put up numbers. I don't think that is the case.
 
I am sure many will be happy to know that according to DX the Jazz are in Belgrade today checking out Vesely in the Serbian finals. Could be the last game if Partizan wins. We are also going to see Biyambo in Spain in the next couple of days as well. Wonder if we are going to get a workout with Jonas V.

I have no doubt that they'd play much more aggressive D.
 
I just want to remind everyone that there were several scouts that said Karl Malone was lazy and had a poor attitude so if DX Givony thinks Kanter is lazy because he watch him in high school, I would have to take it with a grain of salt. Kanter showed up in shape and ready to go. The tough part is determining if the kid loves basketball and wants to be great. For that reason many GM makes mistakes because they pick a guy who talks the talk but really can't get in done on the court or in practice.

Yeah but with Karl you had more film to go off of. Kanter is a pretty rare case because he has close to zero film against real competition, and no film of real competition in a real league.
