2011 draft.....

Franklin is posting duplicate ideas in different threads, telling us to stop posting duplicate threads. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Numberica, I agree with everything you've said. Have you any thoughts on Chris Singleton?

My own two cents being a FSU alumnus. Known as a great defender, not sure he is good enough offensively to take with either lottery pick (if we dont make playoffs). 3pt shooting so-so.

Really not trying to be a smart *** here at all but what are you basing "elite athleticism" off of? Have you seen some measurable's out there on him? Also, who in the NBA do you consider elite athletes?

I've watched him 3 times this year and highschool highlights (every top 100 kid looks elite against average high schoolers) and while being very athletic I'd say he's in the median range of athlete currently in the NBA. To me elite is LeBron, Amare, Howard, Griffin and Rose.

That said I like him a lot.

No, I think you were confusing what I meant. I did not mean Honeycutt has elite athleticism. I meant that in general, we should target someone with elite athleticism and some skills. For the most part, with good coaching (and work ethic), one's skills can improve. Athleticism, not as much. Those raw fast twitch fibers are either there or they're not.

Damn, the more I raad, Burks should be our guy. Elite-type athlete. Very good shooting stroke that shows a ton of promise. If we don't get lucky with the balls and land a pick around 6-8, Burks should be our guy. If we get lucky and could get Irving AND Burks, that trio with Favors would be sick.

I don't think we have a 2nd rounder but Jeremy Tyler is intriguing to me. I don't know what this Tokyo league is like but kid's grabbing 6.1 boards in 14.7 minutes per game.

He looks like he could be like Gerald Wallace to me, but that seems almost too obvious. Perimeter players that aren't known for shooting make me very wary. But I guess it's easier to teach shooting than teach a kid to be more athletic. I'm really not sure, though. Seems like a gamble that could pay off or he could be Corey Brewer.

If we did not have two very good, capable PFs, Millsap and Favors, I would love to see the Jazz select Enes Kanter, my man, the beast from East, Turkey. I watched him in several games back in his Europe career. He, stupidly, chosed to go overseas and play college basketball, while he could easily have been a 20-25 min. player, a key player, for a very competitive Euroleague team, which could easily have made him a top3 prospect. ACtually, he had been considered the 2nd best player of 2011 draft class before the season started.

Enes knows fundamentals very well and has very polished moves inside + has a consistent mid-range shot + might be the best rebounder I have ever seen. Normally, it takes years for a bigman to learn the fundamentals, develop consistent post plays. He is already (he is 18 btw) better than many young bigmen playing in the NBA you can name. He should get stronger and needs some experience, that's all he needs, IMO. He messed up the whole year with his stupid decision to play NCAA basketball and that costed him the 2010 WChamp in Turkey. His being inactive did not help his draft stock. Check out his stats in European Under-16/18 champs., world youth champs. Nike Hoop Summit? OMG

I have no idea about what the Jazz should do with their lottery pick but #19 pick, if they still retain, can be Leonard. I like him.
