Derrick Williams is as much of a small forward as Millsap is.

This is an NBA scout's opinion of DWill2 quoted in the Arizona Republic:

Derrick Williams, sophomore, Arizona: "He's an undersized (power forward.) He gets to the foul line an unbelievable amount of times and has a lightening quick first step. People talk about him being a great athlete, but he's not an elbow-above-the-rim type of guy. When you're 6-7, it's hard to finish in the paint in the NBA. I think he can be a high level pick-and-pop shooter. A solid offensive piece. He doesn't play all the time like a super-hungry player. When he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he doesn't have a sense of urgency. He's woeful defensively. At the end of the game he makes an effort, but for the most part, after he scores, he goes into that home-run trot as we like to say. He's a long way from a complete basketball player, but having said all that, the NBA people who are numbers driven absolutely love him because his efficiency numbers are through the roof."

Think he's the classic tweener who will be great some nights when matchups favor him, struggle in others when he's playing against length, and be a solid if perhaps unspectacular scorer most of the time.

In some ways, a very poor man's Glenn Robinson. Obviously some major differences (Derrick with less of a mid-range game and more of a low-post game) but both pure scorers in that 6-7 240 college-PF range and not bringing much to the table outside of a superior ability to score the basketball.

In a watered-down draft, that'll be enough to get him drafted in the top-3.
I'm a Duke fan, but as a Jazz fan, definitely love me some Harrison Barnes. Hope he declares.
 
I know most of us are curious as to how the 2012 Draft Order will be determined should their be an NBA lockout for all of next year.

This is how the NHL handled theirs in 2005. "To determine the 2005 Entry Draft order after the 2004-05 season was cancelled due to the lockout, each team began the lottery with three balls and was assured of having at least one for the drawing. Teams lost one ball for every playoff appearance they made over the past three seasons and/or for the number of times they were awarded the first overall pick by winning the Draft lottery during the past four years. The Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres each had three balls in the lottery. Anaheim, Atlanta, Calgary,Carolina, Chicago, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Nashville and Phoenix all had two balls. The remaining 16 teams had one ball each. The Blue Jackets earned the No. 6 pick."

I'm not sure what to think from this video of Donatas, but he does have a ton of talent. Too bad the guys he was playing against look like high school students.
 
I remember really liking Donatas last year. But it seems like I read about some weakness in his game that I was suprised by. I think it was his FT%. He sounds like a really confident euro scorer who doesn't play d. And he's skinny so there are some question marks. But I like how confident/cocky I read that he is. That could be good for the Jazz.
 
And he doesn't rebound. Or defend. At all. Sounds like a steal to me, especially for a team facing the situation of having or being close to having too many bigs and not enough minutes.

You wouldn't draft him based on that. You would draft him knowing that he's young and has a lot of potential - a la risk/reward. Defense and rebounding would be something he would have to improve. I'm not saying draft him, but he could be a high reward for someone taking a chance on him.
 
And even if you did take Donatas you'd take him at 12. There are a quite a few decent risk/reward players at 12.
 
Donatas did say his hero is Arvydas Sabonis.
He wants to play like him.
He does pass like him.
Not sure if that means anything else though.
