2011 draft.....

Don't forget that he is a poor defender and poor rebounder even though he's on another planet physically. And he rattles easily. And he takes horrible shots. Playing hard and being smart are as much an inherent trait as athleticism is, and the kid doesn't have those things.

Terrence Jones is a solid rebounder and should be pretty good at the next level. He averaged 9 boards/game and had 14 or 15 in the final game. This is another trait that makes him comparable to Lamar Odom.

I think he has plenty of upside. He's close to 6'9", can handle, pass, rebound and score inside and out. I think of him as being the kind of player you'd expect to see playing on the Hawks. He has some of Josh Smith's explosiveness (not as much, obviously) combined with some of Marvin Williams' intangibles. I think he's quicker than Millsap and should add size and versatility at the SF. He also has some toughness.

Burks could be a nice player too, but I agree with another poster that Hayward is better off at the SG position than SF.

I thought we were talking about Perry Jones. I like Terrence a lot more and I don't think his shortcomings in terms of shot-selection or whatever are beyond fixing. His season was divided into a segment where he was the #1 option and playing insanely well and a section where he was asked to be more of a secondary option and change his role mid-season. While his numbers did suffer in most respects, he did close the season shooting fewer 3s and making a higher percentage of them.

He does have significant question marks, but mine would be questioning if his ideal role is as a power 3 or a face-up 4. And how it pertains to the one we already have (Sap)

I don;t see who else that could have been, especially considering KOC did go ahead and draft Hayward.

Gordon held Kobe in check. You can't ask for anything more than that. He should do AT LEAST ok defensively if he contnues to work. Maybe he isn't the quickest of players, but he does get good position defensively and has solid footwork. Sure he gets beat occasionally. But everyone does. And it was his rookie year. He'll improve. I think the Jazz will go big and then SF - unless Jimmer is there at #12. Then they will be VERY tempted to draft a home town hero. One thing's for sure - they've scouted him thoroughly.

Biyombo/Jones. I think that would be a very solid draft if it happens.

#6 draft Brandon Knight

#12 trade to Los Angeles Lakers for their 4 2nd round picks (41st, 46th, 56th and 58th picks) and cash.

Turn around and trade the 56th and 58th pick for an earlier 2nd round pick like Miami (31st) since they only have one pick in this draft and they have to put cheap players around their big 3.

#31 draft Davis Betrans F (6'10", 225 lbs.) - deadly shooter, great passer, and can battle Benzing for our 3 spot.

#36 draft Jimmy Butler G/F (6'7", 215 lbs.) - a longer, taller version of Wesley Matthews, does everything good but doesn't have a great strength, coincedence coming out of Marquette.

#46 draft Robin Benzing F (6'11", 230 lbs.) - good shooter, high basketball iq, and great ball handler.

If any of the 2nd round picks don't pan out they don't have guaranteed contracts so we could release them. This way we get longer, better shooters, and find a diamond in the rough like Houston did a couple years ago when they traded around for 3 or 4 2nd round picks and one of them turned into a pretty good player, Chase Budinger.

Brandon Knight can be our future point and get some experience behind Devin Harris.

Tristan Thompson is player that should be in the question at #12, Thompson is 6-9 and weighs 225 lbs. Somewhat of an undersized power forward if 6-9 is really that much of a difference to be considered undersized. More of a defensive big man, he is a lefty with a pretty good offensive game. Thompson averaged 13.1 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 2.4 BPG, and 1.3 APG as a freshman this year at Texas. I don't really have any comparison for him, because nobody who is left-handed plays like him and Thompson isn't as good as someone like Chris Bosh, yet not as bad as someone like Brandan Wright. He is projected as a lottery pick so he should be in the question at #12. Nobody thought he would declare for the draft, but he did so that made this draft a little more stronger than it was.

Trey Thompkins is another player that could be interesting at #12, Thompkins is 6-10 and weighs 247 lbs. For a PF 6-10 is great size and he has great jumpshot for a bigman. As a junior he averaged 16.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 1.6 BPG, and 1.4 APG at Georgia this year. My comparison for him is Channing Frye, both have very similar builds and for bigmen they have a pretty good jumpshot. Thompkins shot 31% from three this year, but he is more of a jumpshooter and not a three point shooter, he still does have range though. Also he is projected to go in the late-lottery to mid-first round range this year, so at #12 he should definitely be in the question. Some thought he should have declared last year and the year before that, but he came back to improve his game and get better.

Don't make trade ideas anymore.

While the first one isn't totally laughable, the second one is. You would have to be an incredibly damn fool to trade #31 for two in the fifties.

And making a deal with the thought to make another deal is foolish as well.

I question Terrence Jones ability to get around screens on the perimeter. If he can then he is a rare athlete- almost a poor man's Lebron. So I see him as a athletic and face-up 4 instead of a big 3.

So I am still holding out for Biyombo and Leonard. Though I don't hate Mojenutas as much as I used too. The guy has all-star potential.

Absolutely YUCK! So trade a lottery pick for 2 white trash Euro's and a guy that probably wont get drafted and will be in the D league? I watched videos on both of the Euro's and they're awful. If either of those guys are in the league I will be surprised
