What's new

2011 draft.....

Tyreke Evans, Derrick Rose, John Wall. Those are all above average point guards and Utah would be very good with any of them. Calipari recruits pg's that are successful in the NBA. Knight will be a good pg. The Jazz just have to decide if there is someone better at the #3 spot.

Knight is a lot different than any of those 3 PG's you named though. Wall,Evans,Rose where all atheltic freaks who relied on their size and athletic ability score. Knight is more a quick footed guard, much like Harris (plus shooting). I think he has the potential to be better than Harris because of the shooting. Also Harris was pretty good before injuries and The Nets really stalled out his development

Basically I think he is Harris, but a young Harris who we can mold into more of a PG, and someone who can shoot. Harris is basically a finished project who we can't really change that much, but with Knight we have the potential to continue our tradition of developing PG's.

Evans is not a good point guard. He is a two guard. Udrih ran the point most of the time and they are of course seriously looking at Knight or Walker.

I agree. My point was that Knight will be an above average pg. He is worthy of a top 5 pick. The Jazz just have to decide if Knight is worthy of their pick.

Didn't Harris have his best year with the Nets, and better numbers all around with NJ than with Dallas? Or was it all the losing with him at point?

Yeah, you are right. But yeah, I think he would have developed better with the Mavs and a winning organization rather than being stuck on a crap team.

Wow, completely missing the point. Evans is a very good NBA player. Calipari does a great job finding guys that can play in the NBA. Odds are, Knight will also be a very good NBA player.

Ok, it's all speculation based on who these guys have played up to this point. It's gambling. But I'm not sure Knight is that much better than Nolan Smith - if at all. And Smith can be had in the late first round.

I'm not advocating even getting Smith. I'm making the point that the PG position is one you can fill much more easily than you can a talented big.

Knight is 3-4 years younger than Nolan. So a lot more time to get better.
