What's new

2011 draft.....

We all saw what a player like Perkins did for the Thunder and what Chandler has done for Dallas. This is the kind of player we will need to ever be a serious contender. Him or Biyombo.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me. He certainly isn't a sexy pick like Kanter is with his offensive polish, but I think he will be a sure thing as a defensive anchor.

i posted this on the other thread, just to show that some might underrate kanter.

-nazr mohamed played against kanter one-on-one, and the teammates said, he dominated him. nazr is quite a solid defensive big.

-patrick patterson played against kanter and said, he would be on the same level as demarcus cousins.

-all his teammates talk that they can't guard him and that is also realy difficult to score against him. this means, he can't be that bad of a defender.

-harellson said that a mix of the three other best bigs in the ncaa produces an enes kanter. he would be agile and quick, he can score from inside-out and that he is strong and though. he said, he never has to play against a player of kanter's caliber in the ncaa and that he would pick him as the first pick most likely.

-if he played this year, he would be the obvious first pick in this draft!

-this guy is still 18 years old and his realistic case is a 19-9 player with an slightly above average defense. but the sky is still the limit. he has the body, the skillset, the work-ethic and the fundamentals along with his iq which realy make it almost impossible for him to not become one of the best big men in the league. players like him don't come along very often. worst case is an 15-8 player and the best case is a 23 - 12 player.

I'd take Enes WAY over Valanciunas. I somewhat agree with the KLove comparison -4rbs a game.

I'd take Bis ahead of Valanciunas as well.

Having seen Demarcus Cousins up close in NBA competition, I'm almost sold on Kanter having a similar potential impact and better mobility. If Kanter can measure 6'11" in shoes, I think it's close to a no-brainer. With Jefferson and Favors, Kanter would give the Jazz one of the best front-court rotations in the league.

Vallanciunas draws comparisons to a young Pau Gasol, but he needs to grow another couple of inches and continue to develop his game. I think I'd consider Montiejunas about level with Valanciunas in terms of potential right now.

No way, his teammates (who most likely like him and are friends) are hyping him up? No ********** way.

Kanter dominated Nazr?

The same "solid defensive big" who has a career average of .7 blocks per game?

Oh man, can you say championship?

If he can dominate Nazr, then he's going to be a HOF player... At least!

Except they are two completely different players. The point in getting Jonas isn't that he is going to evolve into an All-Star. Is that he will come in, work his *** off, rebound, play defense, and finish around the rim. I don't want him being Pau Gasol, I want him to be Noah, but longer and more athletic.

Here's my "Bigs" draftboard
1. Kanter
2. Biyombo
3. Donatas
4. Trent Plaisted
5. Valanciunas

Draft Express has Valanciunas as the 4th overall prospect..... he leads the Euro league in rebounds per minute. I don't know why you think he is such a stiff. He won a lot of MVP's a U16 and U18 player just as Kanter did.

ha has a career average of 7 points and 5.5 boards in 18 minutes. nazr is quite solid on the defensive end. and it's really funny to think that a high average of blocked shots makes you a solid defender, like al jefferson. so jefferson averages 2 blocks per game, does this mean that he is a great defender? hahaha, i don't get your logic, i'm sorry.

eh? Looks to me like there are plenty of minutes to go around. Letting go of AK just means more minutes for CJ and Raja.

God willing Memo will be able to contribute next year. Replace RJ with a Jimmer and now we are talking. :)
