FWIW this is from Sam Amick. Dangerous to move down more than one spot because Cleveland would likely take Kanter.

I don't know how much it will cost. Doesn't seem like it should be very much. But I too am leaning toward taking Kanter over Williams, given a choice.

I say stay at #3. If some other team wants the #2 it may be to get Williams. If Jazz want Kanter Jazz have to give up nothing. Surely the team that wants the #2 will tip their hand about who they want.

According to this ESPN article, Minnesota would be willing to trade the #2 pick for #4 and #8 in this draft. If the Jazz could trade a player and maybe #12 for, say the #6 or #7, they could parlay the #3 and #6/7 into the #2....if it matters to them.

Here's an example: The Jazz trade a player and #12 to Washington for #6 and #18. The Jazz then trade #3 + #6 for Minnesota's #2. The Jazz then draft at #2 and #18. They take Williams and Selby/Brooks/Jackson.

This was after some high scoring game of Fredette's. This doesn't tell us how he did in those practices, just that he can score (which we already know), made friends in Vegas, and that Durant is probably the nicest guy in the nba (which we also already know).


This is a crazy draft. I'm going over Valanciunas' game again now - one I was pretty down on before, but now I'm not so sure of anything. Valanciunas might be a nice combination of Kanter and Biyombo. Or else I'm no longer seeing clearly. Maybe I'm asleep.
