What's new

2011 draft.....

That Detroit team had 5 top ten picks on it. Five. That team was stacked. Everyone acts like they had a bunch of second rounders and came from a small town in Indianapolis. They didn't. They were a very, very talented team.

I think four were top 5 picks.

Ben Wallace? Dwight Howard his first few years? Brian Cardinal in the Finals? Joel Anthony? Jarron Collins? These guys all play(ed). If you watched the most video of his workout, even though he was missing jumpers his form wasn't terrible. He could begin to make similar shots.

He also has one very valuable offensive skill: When he gets the ball around the rim he is going to dunk it every single time. He will be able to finish. Guys like Joel Anthony, Jarron Collins, etc. didn't have that skill. Biyombo does.

At this point my favorite scenario is this Jazz trade #3 to Sacramento for #7 and #35 so that they can draft Knight (who they love). The Jazz take Biyombo at 7 and Jimmer at 12. Then we all know the Jazz can find good players in the 2nd round for #35. Preferably a 2. If not then trade one of either Millsap or Jefferson for a legit 2.

I am beginning to think that Jimmer can become a rich man's JJ Barea (taller, better shooter) off the bench for the Jazz. We all saw in the finals how valuable that is. I for one am not totally ready to give up on Devin Harris.

Devin Harris/ The Jimmer/ Watson (?)
CJ/#35/traded player?
Hayward/#35?/Traded player?
Millsap?/Favors/Biyombo
Jefferson?/Favors/Buyombo

Our number 3 for 7 and 35? Dear Lord.. And start CJ, backed up by whoever we get at 35? This sounds like a worst case scenario. No way we would move down 4 spots for a second round pick. Tyreke and number 7 for number 3 and we might be talking..

People on this board are vastly overrating the value of the 3rd pick in this draft.

There is virtually no difference between the quality of players 3-10. The only value is that you assure your pick of the litter, but honestly that is all about preference. Sacramento would be really overpaying for the #3 to give up Tyreke (a former Top Pick) and #7.

There are no superstars in this draft. There are no All-Stars in this draft. It's just deep with nice role players. This isn't 2003 we are talking about. DWade, Melo, Bosh are not going to be available at 3. There will be no DWill or Chris Paul available at 3.

Agree with most of this, but not that ^^^. I agree with "5-10." Just opinions though, all around.

I think there will be atleast 3 or 4 all stars in this draft. 2 of them will most likely be in the top 3, even more reason to NOT trade out of the top 3. After 3, there is a big dropoff, so unless we get some serious talent in return (Tyreke, McGee), trading out of the top 3 would be a terrible choice.

I agree with that and this is why(i know the mocks wouldn't agree) Biyombo could be the #3 pick.

Now if Barnes and Sullinger hadn't of dropped out it would be PKM's 5-10

PKM's Kentucky players don't count the same as those two

I'll give you Barnes, but not Sullie. Skip him.

sounds like Toronto really likes Knight. I wonder if they and Utah can quietly work out a deal where the Jazz draft Knight, Toronto drafts either Kanter or Valanciunas or Bismack, and they don't announce the trade until later on - after the Jazz' 12th pick.

If the Jazz take Knight 3rd then no sweet-on-Fredette team would feel any pressure to trade up to grab Fredette before the Jazz at 12. -- oh, and the Raptors would have to give the Jazz a little something for trading them Knight.

If Fredette is taken anyway there are other players I like that'll be there.
