Is clay going pro? Is booker? (I assume orchard is) what about the punter and kicker?

Clay is gone, he was a senior. I actually think he could play in the NFL, very versatile player and not a bad receiver all things considered. I remember Reggie Dunn getting a look a couple of years ago and Clay is CERTAINLY better than that.

Booker seems to be wavering a bit, I could see it either way. You could make the argument for going pro now, but if he has a better season he may end up with more guaranteed $$$ on his first contract for being a higher pick.

Phillips will be back 100% and I assume Hackett will be as well.

They both played every team in the conference, and TCU had a more difficult non-conference schedule. Does it make a difference in which they play the conference foes? They played the exact same teams. TCU had a better loss, but most importantly, I watched every TCU game except their opener and the SMU game, and I watched every Baylor conference game. I was convinced that TCU was the better team at the end of season, even after watching them lose to Baylor. That's a good enough reason for me. I think that's a pretty legitimate argument considering that's how the committee is expected to decide on the 4 best teams.

I respect your opinion but disagree with it as do the final rankings prior to the bowl games. The head to head mattered a lot. I don't disagree that TCU might be the better team. That being said, a 14 point loss to WVU compared to a 1 point win against them is not enough to overcome the head to head loss. TCU had no business being in the playoff over Baylor at the time and TCU and their 4th quarter disaster have only themselves to blame. Throw the curb stomping in the bowl game out the window. I think it's clouding your judgement here.

No, it's definitely not.

It does kinda support the opinion I had about the two teams at the end of the regular season doe. But I don't use that as support, it's all after the fact - and Baylor played a much tougher opponent anyway imo.

Oh well, we disagree. Never had to worry about the committee selecting one of them anyway - neither TCU or Baylor bring enough $$.

The way you're figuring this is kinda weird to me. We don't think similarly at all. It seems you are using the West Virginia game as a sort of measuring stick and concluding that TCU didn't win by enough to be considered better than Baylor. I just watched a bunch of football and decided who was better. I'm not the greatest football analyst in the world, but I definitely trust my method over whatever it is you are trying to do. Baylor was the better team when they played each other in Waco. After the regular season was over I hypothesized that TCU would beat Baylor at least 6 times out of 10 on a neutral field. Even though they lost the shootout in Waco, I was certain that they were the better team.

It would be a better argument had TCU curb stomped WVU. They won by 1. WVU is a tough team to play at home. My point is the head to head is essential and even more essential when you are talking about a conference with no title game. Baylor was able to win that game and it made all the difference in terms of the rankings.

Like I said, expand and hold a conference championship game and this will cease to be an issue. Neither team deserved to go after the performances from Ohio State late in the season.

If I'm BYU, I probably give an offer to Mo Langi, but I think BYU fans should temper their expectations somewhat.

Dude's never played a down of football, and while he's obviously a physical freak, he's never gone through little league or high school conditioning, let alone what it's going to take just to practice with a D1 football program. Maybe he's the next Ziggy-type of story but those are rare for a reason.

I'm interested to see what he weighs when he comes off his mission.
