I understand that entirely. Every game played should have a direct effect on how they make their determination. I just don't think a title game necessarily gets a big 12 team in. Clearly, the committee doesn't believe TCU or Baylor are one of the top 4 teams, so one of them winning a conference championship would automatically change their mind? That's what it seems is being argued here
I disagree. The TCU/Baylor game was a real barn burner of a game. TCU gave up that 21 point lead in the 4th to lose by 3. Baylor went on to lose to WV. Without the committee really getting another shot to see those teams in a possible title game, they were penalized big time. TCU which did nothing but win by 52 yesterday dropped from 3rd to 6th. It comes down to the conference championships mattering. The BIG 12 needs a conference championship to avoid this type of situation in the future.
