I think what smurf is saying is that if you are talking about the path to the finals then there is more to that path than just quality of the opponents.

The quality of one's own team and health of one's own team can be considered an obstacle on the path to the finals

Of course they can be. Which is why I clarified, multiple times, that my post had nothing to do with the Cavs and their own struggles, and everything to do with the teams they are facing compared to most paths to the Finals.

If I was trying to belittle the Cavaliers, then him bringing up the Cavs own injuries would be a perfect rebuttal. But I'm not. I am not trying to make any claim about the Cavaliers - I'm speaking more on the discrepancy between the conferences. Any West team would kill to have that path to the Finals, regardless of their own injuries.

....your correct! My main beef is not with him but the 3 stooges reffing the game last night.....and the league rules on what is and isn't a flagrant foul! Lebron made a good point, when he said that he was purposely pushed in the back while in the air by that "airhead" tattoo freak Antic, in the previous game and Antic was not accessed a flagrant foul, even though that play was much more flagrant and dangerous than what Horford did to the Aussie kid! Personally, I think refs should be given some leeway when it comes to making a judgement call on what is flagrant and what is not! Any play that purposely looks like a malicious intent to injure a player should be a flagrant foul! Depending on the severity of the foul and the potential for injury it causes, they can hand out a flagrant 2 and an ejection from the game! When a player is up in the air and is pushed, shoved or closelined....that is completely different than what Horford did or that Bull's player who was just shaking the Aussie off his leg while being scissored by him! As you may have already heard, its the hot topic of the sports shows all over the place today! You got an opinion, I've got an opinion and the so-called experts got an opinion! I like my opinion better than all of them!

1. MJ played against much tougher competition. there was no easy lane.
2. Bron is shooting .424% while avging 7pts less.
3. Bron is shooting .164% from 3pt line. MJ shot .389%
4. MJ had 9 35+pt games. Bron has 2 so far
5. MJ had 6 40+ games. Bron had none
6. MJ had 2 50+ games. Bron had none
7. MJ's PER 30.1 Bron - 24.1
8. TOV Bron 4.6, MJ 2.4 - Bron turns the ball a lot compared to MJ
9. efg% bron .439% MJ .502%


MJ has scoring, steal, turnover, FT, fg%, 3pt fg%, efficiency, plus/minus advantage.
Bron has rebounding, assist, block advantage

difference is huge if you ask me even if you don't factor in the competition.

i'm kinda tired of media picking and choosing stats like that. it was OT game and bron had a poor shooting night. i'm sure there's better triple double stat line.
 
What seperates MJ and Lebron is the driven ferocious will to crap all over everyone that MJ had as part of his c*# of a personality. LBJ is a decent human being and even if his numbers and record don't touch Jordan's i prefer him every day of the week to that toxic piece of turd.

that's true. MJ is not your typical beer buddy. punching dudes, calling them 'p' word, etc, it must be hard being MJ's teammate. he bullies you psychologically on and off the field.

I agree that MJ is still the GOAT, but I don't agree that the gap is anywhere near as large as you are arguing. First, I think it's incorrect that LeBron's competition is inferior. The east has been far inferior to the west for at least 20 years now. This is not a new situation at all. Second, you are over-inflating the importance of individual high scoring games. Three of your bullet points are about this. Winning the game is enough.Third, the categories that LeBron leads in are a big deal.

I'm surprised to learn that LeBron's 3 pt percentage is that bad. The defense should be giving him that shot all night long.
