He doesn't fit alongside Gobert or Favors and that is a **** ton of money to pay a guy to play for 17 minutes a night. If we are healthy he'd want more minutes. He's 33 and 5 years removed from the championship run. Maybe we could get that Bryant guy... he was decent in 2011.

Doesn't fit? Because he's good? Unless we want to ignore the fact that he destroyed Gobert the last game we played for like 21 rebounds. You also realize he did only play 24.5 minutes a night this year, right?. So 17 a night + more once Gobert and Favors get injured which they most certainly will and he'll probably average around 21 a night next year.
 
Listen, I'm not saying it's obvious we should go after Chandler but he and Conley would be two HUGE additions. I also think Chandler's contract, if things didn't work out or whatever, isn't so high and he would be very tradeable for a team looking for a defensive 5 for a championship run. Think the Cavs, maybe the Wiz down the line. Teams like that would very well give up a 1st for a guy like that.

Tyson Chandlers contract is an albatross. Just like his last contract with the Knicks..

He can't shoot, dribble, or pass and adds a lot of something we already have. He will be 34 when the season starts and has been playing in the league since he graduated high school. He has a lot of mileage on those knees. His contract runs for 3 more years at 13 M per year.

No way we would pay for him and Conley. That would add $40 M to the payroll. We can get veteran leadership for cheaper than that.
 
I would be on the Conley train. Buuut I am interested to see what Exum would bring next season as a starter...

1. It wouldn't add 40M. More like 30M or so. 2. Name me three vets who we could get who have equal or better leadership than he does.

Chandler makes 13 per... Conleys max is going to start around 26 M per year (it will take the max to get him). That is 39 in the first year. There are lots of vets that make less than 13 M and don't duplicate our interior defense strengths.

Also... Conley is a vet... If we pay him max he better be a leader
