2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

We've all seen the "Jazz should've drafted Booker over Lyles" posts ad naseum here..

With the benefit of hindsight when you re-trace those steps I think it reveals a move/trade target that could've been made in concert with that Booker pick which would've ultimately proven to be low risk / high reward while filling the void they hoped Lyles would..

that is;

trading a future pick for a package from PHX including Marcus Morris. Who's on the books for 5MM this season and 5.7MM next.. This obviously would've had some effect on Trevor Booker but lets say he was there as is, it would've been much easier to trade him to a contender for a pick at the deadline with Morris on the roster.

People don't like the Morris bro's so this will get a nasty response, it's a very sound move on paper tho..

Embiid is out for the remainder of the season. Loved watching him. This sucks.

Nope. Actually started almost the entire time Bradley was out. When Bradley came back he went back to his 30 mpg role off the bench.

I remember now, it was this:

Celtics guard Marcus Smart took to Twitter Tuesday night to apologize for his words and actions in the closing moments of the Celtics’ 123-108 loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old guard got heated on the Celtics bench with assistant coaches during the final timeout of the game with 2:29 remaining. Cameras caught the intense disagreement between several parties that ultimately ended with Smart leaving the bench area and heading back to the locker room while the game was still in progress.

“He just wanted to go back in,” Stevens explained. “And he had played 12 (straight) minutes or whatever so he wasn’t going to go back in. He wanted to go back in. He wanted to go back in badly.”

Smart did not immediately apologize for his actions in the locker room while speaking with reporters, but he did confirm the reasoning for the disagreement.
