I just saw the season preview on NBATV and the prognosticator had the Jazz at 2. Obviously, the Warrior are by themselves, but he liked them competing with the Rockets for the 2. Honestly, I think that is reasonable. It's all about health, though. I think that this is the deepest team that the Jazz have had.

I think so many counting San Antonio out is short-sighted. They were solidly in the mix last year with NO ONE in Kawhi's spot. This year they have solidly filled that spot. I think they will be in the playoff hunt for sure. No way they drop that far when they realistically added a good player and got better as a team.

They didnt just add a good player and thats it though.
iirc their starting point guard had a major knee injury and will most most of or all of the season. Tony parker is gone. Manu retired.

Yeah I still wouldn't count them out with Pops running the show. He is a wizard. I think he will find a way to get the team into the playoffs. If they do miss my bet is they just barely do, like a 9th seed or something and missing by a game or 2. I don't see them falling all the way to 12th or 13th as some have posted.

I also think we are going to see a crazy tight race for all the playoff spots from 4 to 8. I wouldn't be surprised to see just a few games separate spots 4 through 10 or even 11. Crazy the parity and strength in the west right now. Maybe unprecedented.
