Gandalfe’s argument:

My starters have simply overwhelming firepower, from Kareem’s unblockable sky-hook to the amazing craftiness of the Round Mound, Iceman’s 3 consecutive scoring titles, Pistol Pete’s insane ball handling and shooting, and the Big O’s 25 PPG along with 9.5 APG and 6 assist titles (more than anyone except Stockton or Cousy).

But if, somehow, things are going badly? I’ve got insane defense to back them up. (not that the starters are slouches - Kareem is #3 all time in blocks) 7 DPOYs between them (including the first 2), the first non-center to lead the league in blocks (AK47), 9 years leading the league in blocks (including 5 in a row for Motumbo!).

Had a really hard time choosing between these two. Really good matchup.
I liked hekate bench better though.
 
My hatred for DWill runs deep. I’ve tried to forgive him but just can’t do it. Hekate’s team is the much better team but refuse to give DWill this kind of validation. Yes, I have voted Hekate at least in one round maybe more, but I refuse to do it in the final. I’m going to abstain from my vote.

But hey, Hek. If it makes you feel better, you have the better team.
 
I think in todays game you need 3 pointers or you are not winning much. Who is perimeter threat on gandalfe's team? Maravich only? And Hekate has enough power inside to neutralize paint - prime Duncan, Shaq and Sabonis is more than enough to counter Barkley and Kareem. Camby and Mutombo has no offense, and neither of them is stopping Shaq, Sabas or Duncan. My vote goes to Hekate.

I think it's reasonable to assume that Oscar and Iceman would have been pretty good at it if they had played while there was a 3 pt shot - Iceman's last season, if I recalled, was the first year for it.

The previous round was the real finals, and you know it.

Also Ruba should have made the Finals had you used the win % to determine the next round but that's your choice I respect that.

Maybe you're thinking of old, fat Barkley. In his prime, Charles had the speed and skill of a guard and the strength and size of a forward.

NBA Hall-of-Famer Bill Walton commented on Barkley's ability. Walton stated, "Barkley is like Magic [Johnson] and Larry [Bird] in that they don't really play a position. He plays everything; he plays basketball. There is nobody who does what Barkley does. He's a dominant rebounder, a dominant defensive player, a three-point shooter, a dribbler, a playmaker."
 
If gandalfe could call a timeout every change of possession, bring out a different set of players for defense and another for offense he'd take it.

I could also see hekate's team really blowing up if things went south, miller pierce dwill shaq turning into a brawl with possibly mourning and Ron Artest spontaneously manifesting from the crowd to participate. For this very reason i must go with gandalfe.
