Don't know what you do, but that's an odd job you have that you can't call in sick, even if you genuinely are. Never have heard of an "occurrence." But I guess I can see the 6 occurrences in 12 months getting someone fired.

I don't want to derail, but I don't get an occurrence if I get a doctor's note that specifically says that I have a contagious illness. If it doesn't say "contagious" I get an occurrence.

I work in a union environment. Tons of stupid **** like that and the union seems to just love it. Occurrences is the #1 reason people get fired where I work, and it's not even close. They call it a "no fault occurrence policy" which means the reason doesn't matter. I can call in and say "sounds like there's a lot of work to do today, I don't feel like helping out with that so I'm going to take an occurrence" and it's the same as if I call in and say "My wife was just involved in a serious auto accident and is on life support, I'm going to go be with her." So I call it the "It's always your fault occurrence policy." And again, our union is 1000% in favor of this policy.

Fwiw the occurrence system was there pre Union. It was 8 occurrences to get fired though in the pre Union days.
The union didn't create the occurrence system though.

But they have done very little to make it more forgiving. I think there needs to be a little more leeway. Austin was in a rollover accident, in the hospital, and he got an occurrence. Just seems crazy.

I'm just not feeling our union. I got screwed out of seniority even though the language in the contract is ridiculously clear that if you return within a year you lose the time you were gone but keep the seniority you had before you left. Rick says I'm interpreting it different than he is.

Your work schedule was more interesting than Jazz schedule. I hope you get a great wage and benefits.

The price of tickets has sure gone up. These are like Warriors tickets when the Warriors sold out every game.

It's insane. The exact tickets I got for $149 a piece for the Philly game are $599 a piece for the Lakers.

The courtside section is in the $3500 range for the Lakers. I haven't seen that before.

I have good seats for Portland in the pre-season and the first regular season Kings game. I'm thinking about the Clippers, but if Kawhi doesn't play it'll be a waste.

The $165 seats I got for the Kings game are $792 for the Lakers game in March.

When I was in NY, I got Row 4 tickets to the Brooklyn Nets for about $175. I'm sure things have changed. That was when Barclays was only a few years old.

Chief steward and acting president, I believe. He doesn't like me because I was vocal in voting no on the last contract.

We got the short end of the stick on the Pacific Division games. We play Sacramento and Phoenix only 3 times, and play GSW/LAL/LAC 4 times.

It was more mixed in the Southwest, where we play Houston and Dallas 3 times and the others 4.

I prefer a woman with Jazzfanz benefits. You know, she'll watch the game with you and then get down to business afterward instead of either insisting you watch some dumb rom-com, Lifetime movie, or letting you watch the game but constantly interrupting and making it well-known she resents it.

    First kind is a keeper.
