I’m not wasting a 1st on one of those guys.

I wasn’t saying that. Guess I should’ve been more specific. Having a late mid-to-late 1st round pick like #23 should be enough of an enticement to get guys who wouldn’t normally look at Utah to come participate in the Jazz predraft workouts. Regardless of where you pick them, anyone perceived to be outside of the first round should be looking to change that narrative. It’s crucial for the Jazz to see these guys in person to properly evaluate them.

How many young US guys who've gone in the late 1st or later have gone on to do anything in the league? I'm of the opinion that the best strategy in that position is to look for under-appreciated older guys/internationals.
