Why haven’t you applied to be a spokesperson? That would certainly free up DL to focus on more important things — like being aggressive.

I was also a HUGE jacque Vaughn fan

I was sitting in LAX talking to my dad when he mentioned how we’d drafted Vaughn. He mentioned that he was supposed to go like top ten but dropped because the knee injury. I was excited. But I also didn’t know how we’d balance that with Eisley. Anyway, when he became the primary backup I found it frustrating. I’m not sure if that’s because Stockton was so good that there was such a drop off, but I remember not feeling that way with Eisley. I absolutely hated John Crotty round 2, but when he became the primary backup that second year, I really liked him prior to the knee injury. I maintain he was Stockton’s best backup. He signed an autograph for me during his first stint with us. I bought a pack of cards before the game and he was in it, so I got him to sign it after shootaround.

Is it appropriate to be aggressive while trying to cross a balance beam, or is this a paradox? This is like the idea of God being able to make a burrito so hot that even he can’t eat it.

I'm notorious for being critical when we fail to make moves.

I appreciate the FO taking the time to work out the "diamond in the rough" unknown guys throughout the predraft process. I also appreciate the effort to get multiple players even if all in the last 10 selections. Getting those guys is a signal of intent. Spending that money (on two picks - #50 and #58) shows a willingness to build and take chances.

All three picks are intriguing. All are long, athletic, interesting prospects brimming with potential.

And Jazz have 3 guys who might develop into rotational players or trade chips. Is there a great chance in the 50's? No. But there's a 0% chance if you keep trading those picks for cash.

I appreciate Dennis' efforts to improve the team. I have nothing but praise for him...not that he cares one iota what I think.

And to those critical of this draft, did you see the price teams were getting for picks in the 30's? I'll bet you would have been just as critical had the Jazz traded three 2nd's for one of those picks. And let's be honest, Lindsey needs to nip at the fringes to find the 4th PG, the 6th wing and the 5th big. He'll be going after vets for the remaining rotation slots behind the 7 we already have in place. These 2nd rounders are competing for the 11-15 spots on the roster or the two, two-ways spots.
