2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

you guys really aren't realizing what having to guard our PG on the perimeter would do for the offense, he gets an efficient 20PPG, it's perfect.

Imagine Conley PnR's coming off Gobert screens.

Choo choo bitches.

agreed. and you can still run PnR w/ don, allen, or neto and they still providing the shooting gravity to open up the offense. rubio and exum are ignored and leads to 4 on 5 on offense.

So to recap. Jrue isn't available (Jazz inquired and Pels said no).

Tony Jones is sounding like the deal has progressed very far.

Andy Larsen throwing out the possibility that it could be Rubio, Exum and two firsts? WTF?
Those guys, okay fine, but you do not give up two salary controlled contracts for a guy at his age on that contract and who could potentially terminate the last year on his contract if he was so inclined. if it's multiple firsts, i'd pass. One first is okay. But not more than this year's first.

The problem is, is that Conley can’t be our only move. What we’re left with realistically after that, though, kind of makes it be our only move.
Better than no move?

rubio + exum apparently works salary wise. i wouldn't include allen. he's on a rookie contract for 3 more years and has been showing flashes of being able to play on and off the ball and provide spacing while improving defense. i wouldn't give that up at all especially as korver is aging.

If we are giving a pick I think we have to hold onto our prospects like Allen and Exum imo... have to have a little potential boost/upside.

I agree.
It might hurt us in the long term and it probably doesn't get us a championship (I don't think anything other than Spida becoming an MVP will) but my God we be good and fun to watch for the next few years. I'm down.

Exactly! We already spent a first to get Rubio. Now there's talk about two firsts? I'm not gonna be happy if we do more than one first.

I mean the track record isn’t great for him at this point.

2013 - Two firsts to acquire Trey Burke
2014 - #5 on Dante
2016 - First to acquire George Hill
2017 - First to acquire Ricky Rubio

He’s got a good enough track record with draft picks that I’m kind of getting sick of wasting them on trading for one position.
