100% percent true. From personal experience, the same job at the same organization level pays 30% more in a state and city with a similar cost of living.

Which is par for the course. Hold out, move a few minor pieces, claim financial flexibility which never gets used, and organic growth for "improvement". SSDY

I think a higher education rate and people wanting to stay here influence that significantly. There are some exceptions. I have lot of friends who (though we're all in the same general field) went into different specialties and most of them can't get back to Utah. For me, the specific field I did doesn't have a lot of LDS people going into it, so Utah was wide open.

I don't buy that Conley doesn't want to go to Utah. I don't think that it's a coincidence that this "news" broke right after a report that said Utah is the frontrunner but that neither Utah or Detroit have met Memphis price.

Memphis is trying to push the action and get the offer they want. Won't work if DL knows he has the best offer.

I don't hate Mormons individuals, just the stranglehold they have on politics while being a Non Taxed Business. I don't want SL turning into a mini Cali either but it already is.

Their business interests are taxed though...

I’m fine with not getting Conley. Don’t want to overpay. If we can ship out Rubio, a first and minor expiring contracts, and still get something decent, go for it. Would rather keep Favors and Exum.

The only guy I’d be willing to overpay for is Holiday. And looks like he’s not going anywhere.
