Not geniuses. Pretty sure they know more than you. I mean maybe not, I guess you might have the inside track on every deal, after all you are a fan that can look at stats, so you obviously would know more than any exec in the league. Sorry to have doubted you in all your brilliance. Please lead us to the next Michael Jordan.
Recognizing basketball talent is not some special thing. It doesnt take a lot skill to do. You try to put these people on a pedestal as if they have a rare talent or something. Its not the same as programming a computer, building a highway, or building an engine. Those are the type of things, that yes, you leave to the professional because unless you have studied it and done it yourself, you cant demonstrate you can do better. There is a real chance that a 10 year old child who just likes basketball could assemble a team just as good or better than any GM in the league. There is a lot of luck involved. A 10 year old child who likes cars, probably wouldn't be able to luck his way into building an engine. You see the difference?
So no, I dont blindly accept the decisions of NBA execs. Ive watched them fall on their faces more often than not, and I know you have too. So Im not sure why you feel the need to use that against me, when you yourself Im sure has questioned decisions made by NBA execs.
Even if it did take a special skill set recognize basketball talent, how would you even know if these execs do more than me? There are only a handful of these jobs. Do you think the number of people who could do the job ends at the number of jobs available? And everyone of these jobs has been filled with the very best every time?
I can actually prove with previous posts on here where I have demonstrated that I recognized the talent earlier than probably all the execs. For example, I was very high on Spencer Dinwiddie when he was a 3rd stringer on Detroits bench. He could have been easily had by any NBA including the Jazz. But no one but the Nets went for him. Including no one on this forum. How do you explain that?
