2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I agree.

Everybody just thinks Boston can pull off a Paul George/OKC scenario. Paul George said he wanted LA but never, through any source, said he didn't want a place like OKC. Not only did AD say he wanted Lakers, Bucks, Knicks or Clippers, some of his circle has said he doesn't want Boston.

The Pelicans are risking way too much by not trading AD for this haul. If stingy Ainge keeps Tatum off limits, New Orleans is looking at a package built around Brown and 4 picks in the upcoming weak draft vs maybe a weaker offer from LA than this one.

Look the Lakers current offer is fine... but they can do more... offering 2 picks with the young guys... NO said hey we want 4... which I'm not sure is possible.

When the trade happens it is likely all the stuff plus 3 picks... it is worth waiting out the extra pick. LA is going to be more awkward in 3 days than NO is if a trade doesn't go through. What if Boston didn't get that one extra pick from Brooklyn that becomes Tatum, Brown, or gets traded for Kyrie.

I'll bet Ainge called NO and told them Tatum would be the centerpiece of their offer this summer.

As good as Kuzma is, he's not viewed as a possible star like Tatum. Plus Boston has draft assets that would be better than LA with Lebron and AD. Id love to see Boston trade for AD, have him stay one year and then leave. But Boston is smart. Getting AD likely means Irving re-signs.

Right now, we have a staring contest between LA and NOLA. In the summer, it's going to be a staring contest between AD and Ainge. If AD doesn't commit to signing an extension in Boston, they aren't trading Tatum.

New Orleans is risking way too much to let this trade pass them by.

Also I'll bet you NO is really enjoying poking the Lakers... it is a little fun before a not-fun rebuild.

So if they say no today they can't accept in two days? Lakers will do more just wait... NO hasn't even countered and LA is bidding up the price on themselves.

I agree. If both sides are smart, they finish the trade tonight with exactly what you are saying - 1 more draft pick. It needs to happen soon so New Orleans can shed some contracts prior to finalizing the deal.

I'm not saying just today. I'm saying if New Orleans decides to wait until the summer, they are making a big mistake. You can't trust Ainge. If Irving were to back out and leave, it's very possible Ainge decides to keep his cards. If that were to happen, New Orleans would have to settle for a weaker offer from LA.

No chance Boston includes Tatum if AD is still saying he has no interest in Boston.

If NO comes back and says everything you've offered plus one extra pick and flip Zubac for Wagner... Is LA saying no? they gonna let that stop them from getting AD?

NO and LA both no the absolute max offer and NO is okay waiting until this summer if need be. Boston/NY/LA will all have good offers still.

All the pressure is on LA... just like memphis and Conley... wait it out until you have to make a decision.

If NO did a deal fast it looks bad too... like LA flexed on them and they had to give in to the bully. I love what they are doing... LOVE. IT.

Zubac>>Wagner though

?

He did not.

He had a national writer who use to live by Memphis who knows some people who work for the Grizzlies.

Thanks for the clarification on who he was.

Also, I know it’s hard for you to not be an *** but you should try it.
