Because the Jazz would just lose one 1st for renting Mirotic. How is that a disaster? Mirotic is not as good as Conley.

This is all BS. Just bring in Kevin Love and let’s be done with all this posturing ...
Confused why anyone thinks Tobias staying in Philly is a done-deal. I'm not even sure they offer him the full-max (or that they should, considering he's clearly the 4th option on that team).
Ah I see. That would be a disaster. That is why I'm not sold on a 1st for him. Just get him this off season if he wants to be here. He's not a max player so he could be had then. I have no interest in giving up assets for him.Because the Jazz would just lose one 1st for renting Mirotic.
This is why tanking should be very attractive for small market teams. Both free agency and trade options are a joke! Why would we give up value for player who doesn't want to be here(when they are tied to long-term contract)? Why would we give competitive offers for players that are likely to be gone once their contract is up(for short term contract)?
This is one of the biggest competitive disadvantages in the league for small market teams. There are 3 ways to attract premier talent in the league - draft, free agency and trades. Two of them are rendered obsolete or losing for small market teams. Practically the only way you can rely on is the draft...
I don't think they'll trade a first for Mirotic. Not for a rental. They may pursue him in the off season though. That I'm fine with.I meant, imagine if the Jazz gave up Rubio, Favors, and 2 first round picks, only to have Conley start to physically decline due to age, and Mirotic deciding to sign elsewhere.
I think there is a real possibility the Jazz does this if Memphis accepts the Jazz' offer.
Saying it and being able to do it are 2 different things. He's staying. Immediately after the trade Philly said that they plan on keeping Harris and Butler longterm. They are all in on a core of Embiid/Simmons/Butler/Harris.
We aren't getting Harris
He's an unrestricted free agent. I'm sure Philly did that move with the intention of retaining him, but he is yet to be retained and I think the environment there sounds ******, to be frank. He's staying.
