It’s reminiscent of being told we won’t pick up DWill off waivers because we don’t want to hamper Exum’s development, then end up giving all the minutes to Shelvin Mack and then having Hill go down with an injury in the playoffs. That's something I find curious. Jazz FO so high on Exum they won't include him on a deal, yet he doesn't start, gets back up minutes, doesn't play in crunch time, looks completely lost at times, and is frequently in the coach's doghouse. At some point, they gotta take off his leash and let him develop with confidence that he won't be yanked first mistake he makes. I mean, both FO and coach show relatively little faith in him on court, but won't start him, won't play him big minutes, but refuse to trade him.
From where I sit, either trade him or play him and see if he can reach his potential. This middle ground approach does not seem to be working.
Stellar plan.
